BARCELONA – H1898 of Barcelona, member of the NN Hotels group, has been named a ‘Monument’ hotel, a new distinction created by the Barcelona Hotel Association, with the objective of acknowledging the value of establishments that form part of the city’s architectural heritage. The Association recognizes the historical past of H1898 – once the headquarters of the Philippines Tobacco Company – as well as its thorough and laborious renovation and reconstruction, carried out to convert the emblematic structure into a hotel, and bringing added value to guests who are lucky enough to stay there.

In addition to being included in these registries, any hotel seeking this distinction must also meet the quality criteria as determined by the Executive Committee of the Barcelona Hotel Association.
