Bench Events appoint a Business Development Manager for Africa

To support their growing portfolio, Bench Events is delighted to announce the appointment of Fadimatou Noutchemo Simo as Business Development Manager for Africa.

Bench Events are renowned in the industry for delivering respected events in hotel and restaurant investment across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Over the last 6 years, Bench Events has seen their African hotel investment portfolio grow and in 2016, they delivered 2 events in Togo and Rwanda bringing together over 1,000 attendees. 2016 also saw the launch of AviaDev, a unique event that brought together the African aviation industry to not only discuss connectivity and route development but also hold conversations with hotel operators and investors, with a view to providing a co-ordinated approach to tourism development on the continent.

To support their growing portfolio, Bench Events is delighted to announce the appointment of Fadimatou Noutchemo Simo as Business Development Manager for Africa. Based in Cameroon, Fadi will be on the ground and her main responsibility will be to develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential sponsorship clients, generating greater awareness within the African hotel and aviation sector.

In addition, she is the Founder and President of the Young African Aviation Professional Association (YAAPA), a member of the Women in Aviation International (WAI) Organization and President of Women in Aviation International Cameroon Chapter.

Jonathan Worsley, Chairman of Bench Events commented on the appointment, "We are delighted to have Fadi join our team, her life experience and language skills will be fantastic in engaging with local companies and sharing the opportunities available.  Furthermore, her commitment within the aviation sector is perfectly coupled with the launch of AviaDev bringing the airlines, airports and hotel investors together to align their strategies for Africa".

Jon Howell, Managing Director, AviaDev added, "Fadi's knowledge of the industry will be a key driver to advancing AviaDev within Africa.  With 15 African airlines in attendance and 4 of the 5 largest airlines represented (Royal Air Maroc, Kenya Airways, SAA and Ethiopian) at a network planning level, we have been overwhelmed with the response for AviaDev."

Following the positive responses to combine hotel and aviation industries with the conference programme, connectivity and route development discussions will be featured in another launch event for Bench Events the Iran Hotel and Tourism Investment Conference on 7-8 February 2017.

Plans for AviaDev 2017 are underway with dates and location due to be announced shortly.
