Benchmark names Douglas Jensen Director of Finance For The Grove Resort & Spa Orlando

Also Benchmark has named Amit Kumar Sen director of food & beverage for Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort, the landmark Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property on Curacao.

THE WOODLANDS (HOUSTON), TEXAS – Benchmark, a global hospitality company, has appointed Douglas Jensen director of finance for The Grove Resort & Spa Orlando, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located near Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.  Bill Lee, general manager, made the announcement.

“It is such a pleasure to welcome Doug to The Grove,” stated Mr. Lee. “He brings to our resort broad hospitality experience and financial acumen gained at landmark properties, as well as intimate knowledge of the Orlando market. He is an excellent addition to our executive team.”

Doug Jensen was previously corporate director of accounting for The Kessler Collection of Orlando, Florida. He has served as vice president of finance for the iconic Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and was chief financial officer for Adams Mark Hotels and Resorts. Earlier in his career Mr. Jensen worked with the Howard Hughes hotel and gaming organization in Las Vegas and the Caribbean, as well as for Polynesian Village Hotel at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Mr. Jensen is a graduate of the College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He and his family reside in Orlando, Florida.

Also, Benchmark has named Amit Kumar Sen director of food & beverage for Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort, the landmark Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property on Curacao. Rob de Bekker, Benchmark’s general manager at the resort, made the announcement.

It is such a pleasure to welcome Amit to our resort and to the beautiful island of Curacao,” said Mr. de Bekker. “He comes with important leadership skills and culinary experience gained at signature hotels and resorts within the United States and the Caribbean. Amit also offers a keen understanding and appreciation of the culture of this region.”

Amit Sen brings a wealth of industry and Caribbean market experience to his new position with Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort, having launched his culinary and hospitality career in Aruba. He most recently held the position of director of food & beverage outlets for the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans, Louisiana, and prior to this served as director of restaurants for the Gaylord Palms Resort Convention Centre in Kissimmee, Florida. Mr. Sen previously held food and beverage positions with Ritz Carlton, Marriott and select resort properties on Aruba.

Fluent in English, Hindi, Bengali, and conversational in Spanish and Papiamento, Amit Sen earned his Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from CHN – Leeuwarden, The Netherlands, in conjunction with the University of Aruba. He received his Diploma in Hotel & Restaurant Management from the International Institute for Advanced Studies based in India. Mr. Sen resides on Curacao and will be joined shortly by his wife, who is a native of Aruba, and their two daughters.
