Boutique Hotel Santorini Grace reopens for summer 2009

Debuting innovative additions to its accommodation, including a magnificent newly designed Grace Suite which has its own spa, Wednesday April 8th 2009 sees boutique hotel Santorini Grace reopen for the summer season.

Santorini Grace’s striking location overlooks the Caldera Bay and Skaros Rock at Imerovigli on Santorini’s north-west coast. White stone terraces carved into the cliffs define the vernacular. In contrast, arriving guests step inside to the fresh nouveau understated elegance, and to a warm welcome accompanied by chilled champagne and iced towels.

Intimate in size and immaculate in service this enchanting property has enjoyed critical acclaim since its June 2008 debut, then with nine rooms and suites. Following this success, summer 2009 sees an increase in its portfolio to 17 individually styled suites and rooms, most with terraces and private plunge pools, perfect from which to experience Santorini’s glorious sunsets.

Philippe Requin, CEO of Grace Hotels says, “The Grace Suite, at 155sqm, we are confident is the largest, and in terms of design and innovation, the finest on the Caldera. The main bedroom is open-plan, with its own en-suite private spa, equipped with Hammam, Jacuzzi, and a 4 meter long shower for two. There is a second individual bedroom which can be let separately, and on the spacious private terraces are two oversized plunge pools, from which there are spectacular views of the Cyclades to the far horizon.”

Supremely comfortable king size beds from the environmentally-aware Coco-mat company are swathed in sumptuous, feather-light goose down duvets, and crisp linens from Porthault in Paris, famed for its luxury linen manufacture since 1920. A 7-choice pillow menu and guest preference of essential oil room fragrance, each contribute to blissful slumber.

Rooms have all mod cons such as WiFi, iPod speaker and flat screen satellite TV and DVD. En-suite bathrooms with oversized showers, Korres luxury amenities and quality bathrobes and slippers feature throughout the 11 suites and 6 rooms. Specially designed windows and terrace doors provide a fresh air flow at night as an alternative to using the air conditioning.

Champagne breakfast may be served all day. Alfresco dining under a starlit sky reflecting on the Aegean, inspires romance. Beside two cool blue pools, huge inviting sun-loungers beckon, and the pool bar’s irresistible cocktails and super excellent snacks may hasten a visit to the compact, well equipped gym, or nearby spa!

Santorini Grace is the second property of Grace Hotels, a subsidiary of First Mediterranean Investments, established in 2007 to build a portfolio of the world’s finest boutique hotels and residences in sought after locations. Mykonos Grace opened in 2007, Kafalonia Grace – Emelisse and Ithaki Grace Perantzada join the Grace portfolio this month, and Kea Grace & Residences will debut in 2010, with more Grace boutique inspirations are on the Greek horizon.
