As the pound reaches a seven-year high against the euro, Owners Direct claims there’s never been a better time to book a self-catering holiday in the Eurozone.
LONDON, UK – This week the pound reached a seven-year high against the euro, spelling good news for British holidaymakers seeking a bargain break in Europe, claims holiday home specialist, Owners Direct.
One pound will now buy holidaymakers €1.3462, compared with €1.1999 on 1 January last year1, representing a 12.19 per cent increase and currency experts are predicting that the strength of the pound will increase further still.
“The strengthening pound is great news for British holidaymakers looking to take their annual break in one of the popular Eurozone countries this year, particularly if they are booking a self-catering holiday home,” says Karen Mullins, Marketing Director, Owners Direct.

The strong pound versus the euro could also mean savings on the rental cost of the holiday homes themselves because many of the owners who list their properties on Owners Direct, quote their prices in euros rather than pounds.”
