Broadwick Soho announces three management positions ahead of its opening in June 2022. David Monson has been appointed to General Manager; Sabine Kern has been named Director of Sales and Marketing and Andrea Gelardin to Creative Director. These appointments come at a pivotal time in the property’s development and signal a commitment to creating a best-in-class team who can provide the industry expertise necessary to deliver this new hotel for London, inspired by the spirit and essence of Soho’s neighbourhood.

Broadwick Soho is a collaboration between long-time friends Noel Hayden, owner of Broadwick Soho and Jo Ringestad – Managing Director of Broadwick Street Holdings, who bring their industry expertise to create the 57-room property and one of Soho’s most unique dwellings.

Noel and Jo developed a love for hospitality at an early age. Whilst predominantly focussed on a career in fashion, Jo continued to have a hand in his family’s French Riviera hotel, and it was there that he met Noel Hayden. Noel had similarly grown up helping at his Bournemouth family hotel and he had long dreamed of opening a luxury hotel in central London.

The keys to the design have been handed over to Martin Brudnizki. Hailed for his style blending modernity and authenticity, Brudnizki’s approach is a perfect match for the Soho neighbourhood, where the creative, eclectic and unusual atmosphere is as emblematic as a warm welcome. Together with the Broadwick Soho team, Brudnizki has created a design concept which is refreshingly original, yet respectful to the building’s storied past.

“At Broadwick Soho, we want to redefine what a modern hotel can do by offering an elevated space that is ingrained in London culture and also delivers an unparalleled level of authentic hospitality. We are thrilled to welcome onboard this incredibly diverse team of talented professionals who will elevate the execution of our strategy as we propel the hotel forward through its opening and beyond,” said Jo Ringestad.

David Monson, General Manager
Seasoned hotelier David Monson, joins Broadwick Soho as General Manager, bringing with him over 30 years’ experience in the luxury hospitality industry. Prior to joining the Broadwick team, he was the General Manager of COMO The Halkin London and he enjoyed an 18 year tenure at Four Seasons Hotels including Director roles in The Bahamas, Dallas, London and Hampshire.

In his role at Broadwick Soho, he will manage the property’s operations, business development and the hotel's unique culture across the team. He will also oversee all Food & Beverage outlets, consolidating the hotel as a dining destination for Londoners and international guests alike.

Sabine Kern, Director of Sales and Marketing
With over 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Sabine started her career with Marriott Hotels before moving into traditional luxury with Raffles Hotels. As part of the opening team of St. James's Hotel & Club, Sabine had the opportunity to be involved in the design process and re-positioning a traditional members club as a luxury hotel. Following this, her experience at the iconic The Hempel could not have been more different, allowing her to learn and harness many different skills.

After her role as the Digital Marketing Agency Aro, Sabine joined the first EDITION hotel in London.  A unique partnership between legendary Ian Schrager and veteran hotelier Bill Marriott, EDITION has been credited to invent 'modern luxury' for the hospitality industry.

Joining Broadwick Soho, Sabine will be instrumental in driving sales, brand positioning and revenue management along with her team, and establishing the hotel as the top choice for any client business coming to the United Kingdom.

Andrea Gelardin, Creative Director
Andrea Gelardin is widely known within the fashion, music and entertainment industries for her highly attuned curatorial eye. With an initial background in production for Nick Knight, and a long run in the press office at Louis Vuitton under the helm of Marc Jacobs, Andrea has since created original and outstanding content for brands and artists including American Ballet Theatre, Gucci, Burberry, Riz Ahmed, Swarovski and Apple.

In 2016 Andrea worked with the new owners of Fiorucci to conceptualise, plan and realise the re-launch of the iconic brand.

Together with long-time friend and collaborator Ruth Hogben, Andrea worked as a creative director for Lady Gaga, overseeing the star's tour visuals (namely the Joanne World Tour), Oscars, TV appearances, merchandise design and, most notably, her Super Bowl halftime show. Andrea and Ruth also recently worked with the Prince Estate to direct the music video for the previously unheard version of Prince's Nothing Compares 2 U.

Joining Broadwick Soho, Andrea will drive creative strategy and creative direction for the hotel through launch and beyond.

Coming soon to London’s Soho in 2022, in time for the Queen’s Jubilee weekend, Broadwick Soho is situated on the corner of Broadwick Street and Berwick Street. The hotel’s food and beverage concepts will be operated in partnership with Jamie Poulton and chef Ed Baines, founders of Randall and Aubin on nearby Brewer Street.
