Free wireless or internet services remains top of the list for the third year running by European business travellers. An overwhelming 93% of European hoteliers voted it the top business traveller amenity.
A survey conducted by Choice Hotels Europe, the company behind the Comfort, Quality and Clarion brands in Europe, into what hoteliers believe are the hotel amenities most valued by European business travellers reveals that free wireless or internet services remains top of the list for the third year running. An overwhelming 93% of European hoteliers voted it the top business traveller amenity. Respondents were divided on the next most valuable amenity with Italian (62%) and German hoteliers (80%) then ranking 24 hour security as the second most important feature while the Brits (65%) give second position to free breakfast.
The least valued amenities were fitness centres and business centres with only 14% and 16% respectively of European respondents believing that business travellers value them.
Brian Garvan, UK Sales Director, Choice Hotels Europe, commented: “Our survey shows the value European business travellers place on free internet access which we have offered as a brand standard for the last four years in our UK Clarion, Quality and Comfort brand hotels.”
The Choice Hotels Europe portfolio of franchised hotels offers business and leisure travellers a full spectrum from premium economy to luxury hotels. Choice Hotels Europe franchises nearly 500 hotels across Europe alone. Five more hotels have been added recently to the Choice Hotels portfolio in the UK including Quality Hotel Wolverhampton, Quality Hotel Birmingham Airport/NEC, Clarion Collection Hotel Makeney Hall, Clarion Collection Hotel Winchester Royal and Dublin’s gibson hotel has joined Choice’s Ascend Hotel Collection, a portfolio of distinctive independent hotels, providing guests with an upscale, boutique hotel experience backed by one of the world’s largest hospitality franchisors.
