New rooms have a contemporary, yet neutral pallet that can be transformed for business and social functions including weddings, galas, AGMs and conventions. Natural light and flexible spaces allow for multiple options such as large 300-person business presentations or smaller breakout meetings.
 
More intimate meetings can be held in the hotel’s boardrooms which accommodate up to 14 people. And for a more unique experience, we suggest a private function in our ONE18 EMPIRE restaurant and whiskey bar, or our seasonal patio that accommodates over 400 people and overlooks historic Stephen Avenue.
 
The Red Coat App
With Marriott’s new Meeting Services App, managing a meeting or event is a breeze knowing there is a ‘Red Coat’ at your fingertips. Here are just a few features:
– Allows real-time requests for coffee refills, room temperature changes, more easels, early lunch and almost anything else you might need
– Customized for each event’s meeting rooms and spaces
– Sent to planners by the hotel three days before the event begins
– Available in 20 languages, MSA breaks down time and language barriers
– Available for use on all web-enabled devices or an iPad provided for use throughout the event if needed
 
Green meeting certification
The Calgary Marriott Downtown was recently awarded a 3 Green Key Meetings rating by the Green Key Meetings organization. It highlights the hotel’s significant advances towards protecting the environment in relation to meetings and convention facilities and practices. “Not only are we advancing meetings into the future, we’re securing that future with our green initiatives,” comments Clohessy.
 
Green certification means meeting planners and attendees can rest assured, knowing the Marriott has implemented environmental initiatives to minimize the negative impact resulting from energy and water consumption, travel and transportation, food and beverage, handouts, garbage and more.
