Casona Roma Norte Hotel unveils six distinct dining concepts

Casona Roma Norte

Casona Roma Norte, a new boutique hotel in Mexico City, offers six dining concepts and 32 rooms, blending diverse cuisines under chefs like Aquiles Chavez in a restored 1920s mansion.

Casona Roma Norte, Mexico City’s newest boutique hotel, just opened on October 1st, bringing a fresh pulse to the city’s renowned culinary scene. With six innovative dining concepts, it offers an exciting new chapter for food enthusiasts eager to explore the flavors of this dynamic metropolis. Nestled in a meticulously restored 1920s mansion in the heart of Roma Norte – celebrated for its eclectic mix of cultures and cuisine – Casona Roma Norte’s intimate 32-room setting enhances its diverse food and beverage offerings, allowing guests to embark on a culinary journey without ever leaving the hotel. Under the guidance of celebrity chef Aquiles Chavez and restaurateur Claudio Poblete and in collaboration with the renowned Mexican bakery La Macaria, the hotel’s venues reflect the rich tapestry of Mexico City’s dining scene, shaped by a fusion of Mexico City’s cultural influences.

Leading the culinary offerings at Casona Roma Norte is Chef Aquiles’ Suchi Nipona & Sinaloa Cuisine, where traditional Japanese techniques seamlessly blend with Sinaloan ingredients to highlight premium Pacific Coast fish and artisanal sushi rolls. This fusion embodies a rich cultural connection that dates back to 1614, when samurai Hasekura Tsunenaga arrived in Acapulco as the first Japanese ambassador of New Spain, marking the beginning of an evolving flavorful exchange between Japan and Mexico. Guests can also enjoy a selection of Mexican sake, adding a unique twist to the dining experience and further celebrating the melding of the two cultures.

Chef Aquiles’ passion for Mexican flavors continues to shine at Aquiles, where seasonal comfort cuisine harmonizes rustic warmth with refined sophistication, honoring the region’s agricultural bounty. Elevating the culinary experience further, Holden Rooftop provides breathtaking panoramic views alongside flame-grilled fare, inviting guests to savor their meals in style.

As guests conclude their culinary journey, they are seamlessly led into an exploration of beverages that celebrate Mexico’s rich heritage. Akamba emerges as a spirited sanctuary, showcasing a carefully curated selection of national distillates, including mezcal and tequila. Here, a dedicated Spirits Master Concierge crafts bespoke cocktails tailored to individual preferences, enhancing the connection to the country’s vibrant spirit culture. Finally, at The Mirror Speakeasy, guests can indulge in an innovative cocktail menu set against a stunning Art Deco backdrop, where global influences merge with distinctive local flair, completing a delightful journey through flavors and libations.

Rounding out the food and beverage offerings at the hotel, Matcha & Tea Room by La Macariablends the tranquil ambiance of a Japanese tea room with the artistry of a renowned Mexican bakery. Artisanal teas are paired with exquisite pastries that showcase local ingredients through French techniques, resulting in visually stunning and delicious offerings.

As Mexico City continues to thrive as a global food capital, Casona Roma Norte stands out as a new culinary landmark – celebrating the city’s rich traditions while offering a fresh and contemporary perspective on its vibrant gastronomic scene.
