Chesapeake Hospitality assumes management of three Turnaround hotels

Nationally recognized third-party manager has added 10 properties to its portfolio in the last year.

GREENBELT, MD. – Greenbelt, Md.-based Chesapeake Hospitality, one of US fastest growing third-party hotel management companies ranked in the top 50 largest independent U.S. operators, announced that it has taken over management of the InnPlace Hotel Bensalem in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, the Comfort Suites BWI in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, and the Holiday Inn Express Mt. Holly in Westampton, New Jersey, bringing its management portfolio to 27 properties. Kim Sims, president of Chesapeake Hospitality, made the announcement.

Each of the three new properties boasts an advantageous location: the 76-room Holiday Inn Express Mt. Holly provides easy access to Philadelphia and all of southern New Jersey; The InnPlace Hotel Bensalem sits adjacent to the PARX Casino and Racetrack, it will convert to a major brand upon completion of renovation, and the Comfort Suites BWI is ideally suited for the business travelers to Baltimore Washington International Airport and Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

The Comfort Suites BWI is currently closed as it undergoes a comprehensive property renovation. It is scheduled to re-open under the Choice brand in the second quarter of this year.

“For Chesapeake Hospitality, 2013 was an exponential growth year. These three new property additions are part of a continuing strategy and also demonstrate our solid reputation in the industry for turnaround management,” said Sims. “While advancing our third-party management business will continue to be integral to our growth plan in 2014, we foresee implementing a multifaceted approach that also includes potential development prospects.”
