Choice Hotels announces opening of Cambria Hotel & Suites White Plains

New mixed-use, all-suite hotel opens its doors in New York.

ROCKVILLE, Md. – Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), one of the world’s largest hotel companies, and Meyer Jabara Hotels, an award-winning hospitality company, are excited to announce the opening of the Cambria hotel & suites White Plains – Downtown. Located at 250 Main Street, the Cambria hotel & suites White Plains is conveniently situated in the heart of downtown White Plains just a short distance north of New York City.
 
The opening of the Cambria hotel & suites White Plains is an integral part to our continued expansion into top-tier markets,” said Michael Murphy, senior vice president, Upscale Brands, Choice Hotels International. “We’re seeing tremendous growth in the New York area; in fact, this hotel is the first property to open in the New York market with two others currently in development in New York City.
 
The 130 all-suite hotel is part of a mixed-use development that includes 35,000 square feet of retail and two floors of underground parking.  Valued retailers are located on-site, such as: TGI Fridays, Chipotle, Corner Bakery, Wild Fusion Asian Grill and Planet Fitness are located below the hotel offering guests additional options for meals and entertainment.
The hotel lobby is positioned on the third floor and invites guests with its modern style and comforting fireplaces.
 
The suites offer functional, chic decor options, including a separate living, working and sleeping space, ergonomic chairs, moveable desks and upscale linens. Each suite allows guests to stay connected while they travel by enjoying the latest technology and prime entertainment with amenities such as flat-screen LCD televisions and MP3 jacks.
 
This six-story mid-rise hotel also offers three versatile meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 60 guests in banquet setting or 120 guests for conferences. All meeting space is state-of-the-art and equipped with high-tech audio and visual equipment.
With more than 2,000 square feet of meeting space, this hotel is perfect for business travelers who need space to work, but also want amenities that provide a sense of relaxation. This property is conveniently located near notable corporations such as: IBM, PepsiCo, MasterCard, Heineken and Merrill Lynch.
 
For the leisure visitor, the Cambria hotel & suites White Plains is also near notable attractions such as: New York Botanical Garden, Bronx Zoo, Neuberger Museum of Art and Westchester Mall.

Like all Cambria hotels & suites, the White Plains property will feature other fine amenities such as a contemporary bistro serving a dinner menu comprised of local specialties created by Chef Michael DeMaria; liquor, wine, beer and freshly prepared grab-and-go gourmet salads and sandwiches; and a barista bar featuring coffee and a hot breakfast buffet.
 
In addition, the entire property will offer complimentary wired and wireless high-speed internet access, an on-site business center, free shuttle within 5 miles, valet garage parking and an indoor heated pool.
