ROCKVILLE, MD. – Choice Hotels International, Inc. has signed an agreement with Cloud Nine Hospitality, LLC, to develop a new Cambria hotel in Austin, Texas. The four-story, 134-room Cambria property will be located at the corner of E. Ben White Blvd. and E. Riverside Dr.

Expected to open in 2019, the Cambria Hotel Austin Airport is near Austin Bergstrom International and just minutes from downtown. Often referred to as “Silicon Hills,” Austin includes many high-tech company operations, including 3M, Apple, Google, Facebook, Dell and Silicon Laboratories. The city also hosts the popular South by Southwest (SXSW) festival each year, a conglomerate of film, interactive media, music and conferences. Additional nearby attractions include the Circuit of the Americas raceway and the Austin360 Amphitheater. The area is also home to the University of Texas at Austin and the Texas State Capitol.

“Austin is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. and an ideal market for the Cambria brand. As part of our aggressive growth strategy, we’ve been targeting both state capital and large university markets, and Austin benefits from being both. We like the stability, higher RevPAR, and consistent room night demand these markets typically deliver. In addition to the state capital and The University of Texas, Austin boasts a booming tech sector, thriving music scene, and several annual events which make it a popular destination for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel’s close proximity to both the airport and downtown, combined with great amenities, makes the Cambria hotel perfectly suited for the modern traveler,” said Mark Shalala, vice president, development, upscale brands at Choice Hotels. “The Cambria Hotel Austin Airport is an important next stop for the brand as we continue to expand in key markets across the country, especially in Texas. We already have three properties open in Texas, located in Plano, Southlake and McAllen, with two more projects currently under construction in Downtown Dallas and Richardson, and six additional projects under development in Waco, Downtown Houston, Houston Airport, Downtown San Antonio, Shenandoah/the Woodlands and Galveston. We look forward to working with Cloud Nine Hospitality on this project and providing guests with a dynamic upscale lodging option."

The Cambria Hotel Austin Airport includes ample meeting space, an outdoor pool and spa, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The property will also feature contemporary onsite dining, serving a menu comprised of local specialties, liquor, wine, and local craft beers, as well as freshly prepared grab-and-go gourmet salads and sandwiches, and a barista bar.

Could Nine Hospitality, LLC, has many years of experience managing and operating hotels, including other Choice brands such as Quality Inn, Comfort Inn and Comfort Suites. Cloud Nine Hospitality also handles various real estate development opportunities across the state of Texas.

“Austin is a perfect fit for the Cambria brand, and we’re thrilled to team up with Choice on this project,” said Vick Patel of Cloud Nine Hospitality. “Austin’s thriving tech scene and diverse offerings brings in a high number of visitors to the area, and we look forward to providing guests traveling on business and leisure with a new upscale alternative.”

Cambria Hotels are designed to provide a unique and distinctive experience with the services and amenities that travelers demand, including casually tailored decor, flexible spaces for meeting or socializing, rooms that are comfortable and composed, and of course, free Wi-Fi, allowing guests to stay fully connected while they travel. The spa-like bathrooms offer contemporary fixtures, refined surfaces and abundant light.
