ClubCorp announces the addition of Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond, Oklahoma

Club features two 18-hole golf courses, both named on Golf Digest 2013 Top 10 "Best in State" List; Extensive capital improvement campaign planned.

DALLAS – ClubCorp announced the acquisition of Oak Tree Country Club, one of Oklahoma’s premier private country clubs for families and golf enthusiasts. Located in Edmond, approximately 15 miles north of Oklahoma City, Oak Tree is the only private country club in the metro area featuring 36 holes of golf.

A multimillion-dollar capital improvement project is planned with extensive renovations and upgrades to the clubhouse – including expanding casual dining and the addition of an outdoor dining area – and improvements to the golf, tennis, pool and fitness areas.

Meticulously designed by legendary golf course architect Pete Dye, Oak Tree’s two 18-hole golf courses earned spots on the Golf Digest 2013 Top 10 “Best in State” rankings. Renowned for their splendor and challenging play, the East Course and West Course wind gently through the Oklahoma landscape and rolling terrain, preserving the character of the land while offering a challenge around every bend.

Oak Tree also features a dramatic wood and stone 65,000-square-foot clubhouse with three levels of dining – the casual, family-friendly Trophy Lounge, the adult atmosphere 21 Club, and the Formal Dining Room – and includes a men’s locker room and grill, ladies’ locker room and grill, and golf pro shop.

In addition, the club has a 75,000-square-foot Sports Facility that includes six indoor tennis courts, six outdoor tennis courts, an indoor jogging track, fitness center, aerobics studio, racquetball court, basketball court, and additional locker rooms with saunas and whirlpools. Oak Tree also features an Olympic-size swimming pool and children’s wading pool.

“We are very excited about the addition of Oak Tree Country Club, nationally recognized as one of the preeminent clubs in Oklahoma, which gives us a presence in the state and increases our brand awareness nationwide,” said Mark Burnett, ClubCorp executive vice president, golf and country club division. “The club will serve as a very nice complement to ClubCorp’s portfolio of clubs, providing yet one more venue for members of clubs in the ClubCorp family to visit and test their skills on two exceptional golf courses.”

“We are very pleased to sell one of the finest country clubs in the nation to such a first class group in ClubCorp, recognized across the country for excellent operations, member services and club amenities. The addition of Oak Tree Country Club to ClubCorp’s network and reputation as the leading operator of private golf clubs in the nation validates its prestigious status as one of the most respected and renowned private country clubs in the nation. Moving forward, we are enthused about both the future of the club and the Oak Tree community, which includes over 200 premium acres of undeveloped land,” commented Jeff Bolding, Managing Partner of Oak Tree Partners, LLC.

Oak Tree Partners, LLC, a local real estate partnership managed by Tom Blanton and Jeff Bolding, retains ownership and development rights to the over 200 acres of undeveloped land within the Oak Tree community. Oak Tree Partners, LLC purchased the Oak Tree development including the club in 2004.
