Collapsible hotel room extended with shower and toilet facilities

Innovative Flexotels deployed at more festivals and events all over the world.

BEST, THE NETHERLANDS – Flexotels‘ collapsible hotel rooms, deployed at festivals and events all over the world, have been extended to include a sanitary room. The Dutch company has managed to equip the fold-out rooms with a shower, hot water heater, toilet and sink, providing event participants, visitors and personnel with more comfort.

These Comfotels will be deployed for the first time during the coming event season. According to CEO Hubert von Heyden Flexotels responded to its clients’ demands for more comfort, especially when visitors or personnel have to sleep in the Flexotels for longer periods of time.

Mr. von Heyden launched his innovative concept five years ago. Today the collapsible Flexotels are rented at many major events all over the world. With names like Relax Rooms, Sleep on Site or Summer Suites they provide a luxury accommodation to participants, visitors and personnel at music festivals like Lowlands, Rock Werchter, Rock Am Ring, the Sziget festival in Hungary, Glastonbury at the UK and Millstreet in Ireland. Flexotels also has a strong presence at sports events like the 24h Le Mans, the Olympic Games in London and motor racing at Silverstone. In addition, the rooms are increasingly used for B2B events.

Flexotels already has 400 deployable rooms and expects its 25.000th overnight stay this year.

According to Mr. von Heyden, “Flexotels fulfil three important demands that people at events share; they want to have a good night’s sleep, a lock on the door so that they can leave their things and they want to walk to the event site. Generally guests don’t mind to share joint showers and toilet blocks, but when staying at the event for a longer time, guests prefer more privacy and comfort. That is when you long for your own bathroom.”

Besides sanitary facilities Comfotels contain two box-spring beds, two chairs and a table, storage space. Storage space, electricity, linen and towels are also available. Up to 10 rooms can be put onto one truck. By offering multiple types of accommodation, Flexotels wants to evolve into a short stay solution company in the future, providing collapsible rooms for different purposes.
