Cornish Horizons latest property – Farmlands

Beautifully presented and with some lovely views down to the sea and across open countryside, the layout of the dining and sitting areas has been designed to take advantage of them.

An overwhelming feeling of relaxed luxury greets you as you walk into Farmlands, a fabulous barn conversion nestling on the side of the hill overlooking Porthcothan Bay on the North Cornish coast. Closer inspection reveals the quality finishes and bespoke furniture that exemplifies the contemporary style of this split level property which offers accommodation for six people. Ideal for a family beach holiday or for friends looking for a retreat from life’s stresses and strains, Farmlands is sure to meet your needs.

Beautifully presented and with some lovely views down to the sea and across open countryside, the layout of the dining and sitting areas has been designed to take advantage of them. The open plan design and full height beamed ceilings enhances the feeling of spaciousness and a stunning hanging woodburning stove set against a feature wall of Cornish stone is perfect for chilly winter evenings. Together with the fully equipped kitchen, sound system and even a piano, it is entirely possible that you may never wish to venture out and explore what the locality has to offer.

To the rear there is a terrace area and fully enclosed garden making an idyllic space to relax with a glass of wine in the summertime. The property also offers parking for three cars.

Porthcothan Bay is a stunning sandy beach backed by sand dunes popular for sunbathing and a favourite with families; it is just a 10 minute walk down the road from Farmlands and easily accessible using the public footpath.

For keen walkers, Farmlands is within easy reach of the coastal footpath including the National Trust headland, providing you with some of the most outstanding views around as well as a variety of wildlife. Porthcothan Bay also provides a small general store right next to the beach and a local pub.

Just a couple of miles up the road is the village of St Merryn which provides a range of shops, restaurants and pubs (one owned by Rick Stein); slightly further afield (5 miles) is the picturesque fishing harbour of Padstow providing a great day out for the family.

Padstow boosts a range of delights for visitors to the area; you can browse through the numerous shops and galleries, indulge in a cream tea in one of the charming cafes, stop for a relaxing spot of lunch in one of the many highly rated restaurants or simply watch the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the busy fishing harbour. The renowned Camel Trail, which leads all the way to Bodmin along the route of the old railway line, starts from Padstow and really is a must do for any holiday.

This truly is a gorgeous property to choose if you are looking for something that stands out from the crowd. Farmlands is now available to rent throughout the year from £706 a week, subject to availability, and is one of a number of properties recently taken on by Cornish Horizons so worth a look if you are after summer availability.
