Courtyard Charleston Historic District in Charleston completes a multi-million dollar renovation project

The hotel’s recent revitalization presents a complete transformation of all of the hotel’s guestrooms.

CHARLESTON, SC – The Courtyard by Marriott Charleston Historic District hotel located at 125 Calhoun Street is pleased to unveil its new look after a multi-million dollar transformation that includes extensive renovations to the guest rooms, guest bathrooms, public spaces and meeting rooms plus an upgraded Bistro. The 176-room hotel operates as a Marriott franchise, owned by RLJ Lodging Trust of Bethesda, Maryland and managed by Interstate Hotels & Resorts of Arlington, Virginia.

This six-story property is ideally situated downtown, adjacent to Marion Square, the host of many world-renowned festivals. The newly revitalized hotel is located on the footprint of the College of Charleston, and within walking distance to the historic Charleston City Market, the South Carolina Aquarium, the Medical University of South Carolina, and historic Charleston’s best attractions, restaurants and nightlife.

“Our hotel has always been a favorite of both business and leisure travelers,” said Jim Fournier, general manager, Courtyard Charleston Historic District. “With these enhancements, we now offer an even greater value and experience for all of our guests.”

The lobby level has been completely redesigned with new carpeting, hard-surface flooring, light fixtures, wallpaper and artwork. The upgraded Bistro serves Starbucksa products as well as seasonal breakfast fare in the morning, and a full-service bar and small plates in the evening. Suitable for hosting events for up to 175 people, the Courtyard Charleston Historic District has also updated its 7,800 square feet of flexible meeting space.

The hotel’s recent revitalization presents a complete transformation of all of the hotel’s guestrooms. All rooms now feature modern hard-surface flooring, mini-refrigerators, new mattresses for optimal sleep, plus 42-inch HDTV’s. Rejuvenated guest bathrooms include modernized LED mirrored vanities and king-rooms feature renovated walk-in showers.

Other onsite amenities at the Courtyard Charleston Historic District include a full-time Concierge, a 24-hour fitness center, a heated outdoor swimming pool, guest laundry, business center and The Market, a 24/7 shop for snacks and beverages. The hotel currently offers valet parking and boasts renovated outdoor space with a communal fire pit and heat lamps.
