Cox & Kings owned Meininger signs contract for a new hotel in Berlin

Meininger Hotel Berlin Tiergarten will be part of the mixed-use development Schultheiss Quartier consisting of approximately 120 retail shops and offices.

MUMBAI – Cox & Kings owned Meininger Hotels and HGHI Holding have signed a contract for a new hotel in Berlin. Meininger Hotel Berlin Tiergarten will be located in the Schultheiss Quartier in the district of Moabit next to the Tiergarten. It’s going to be the 6th Meininger hotel in Berlin.

Meininger Hotel Berlin Tiergarten will be part of the mixed-use development Schultheiss Quartier consisting of approximately 120 retail shops and offices. The shopping and service centre is located on the premises of the former Schultheiss Brewery. It is set to feature a modern, urban and unique mix of shopping, gastronomy and entertainment.

The Meininger hotel will feature 243 rooms and 865 beds on four floors; well equipped with TV, free Wi-Fi and en-suite bathrooms, all as per specifications. All public spaces will be located on the second floor, including a lobby, lounge, breakfast area and bar, as well as a guest kitchen and game zone, which are all standard for Meininger hotels. The first and the second floor of the building will be part of the shopping center. The hotel will have a gross floor area of approximately 8,500 sqm. The lease agreement is for an initial term for 20 years.

Located within walking distance to the underground stations Birkenstrasse and Turmstrasse, the connection to public transportation is excellent. The hotel is located in close proximity to Berlin’s largest and most popular park in central Berlin, the Tiergarten.

Peter Kerkar, Director, Cox & Kings Ltd says: “I’m very happy about this project. It will be the 6th Meininger hotel in Berlin and a great addition to our portfolio. It’s great being part of this mixed-use development. Being integrated in a shopping centre is an excellent benefit for our guests.”
