CWT and IBS create seamless booking solution for complex travel

New integrated technology takes pain points out of complicated bookings.

AMSTERDAM – CWT Energy, Resources & Marine, the specialist energy, resource and marine division of global travel management company Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT), is working with IBS, the leading global logistics software provider, to create a one-stop solution to manage both commercial travel and the unique logistical travel often required for the energy, resources and marine industry.

The new single booking solution, based around IBS iLogistics, is designed for companies of any size. It enables them to manage the complex business of crew rotation, which often involves specialist travel to remote locations. The new tool removes much of the complication of managing all the elements, including charter aircraft, helicopters, ground transportation and remote accommodation.

CWT Energy, Resources & Marine and IBS are providing a number of benefits for travel managers and travelers alike, including:

  • One single, flexible solution for travel managers and logistics managers to handle both their commercial and logistics booking requests.
  • One consolidated and interactive mobile itinerary for a simplified traveler experience.
  • Enhanced total trip visibility for more efficiency and safety and security.

Monisa Cline, senior vice president and global head, CWT Energy, Resources & Marine, said: “This new solution will be available globally and integrates with CWT To Go, our best-in-market mobile technology. Many clients in this space still manage some aspects of crew rotation manually. However, this new offering provides clients with a much more efficient complete one-stop- solution.”

Ramesh Nair, vice president, IBS Oil and Gas Logistics Business Unit, added: “The collaboration between CWT and IBS brings two industry leaders together to drive synergy across the travel value chain to deliver enhanced customer experience and achieve efficiency. This affiliation is a great example of two suppliers, with complementing capability, coming together and driving innovation to support its customers in a challenging business environment.”
