One of Cyprus` leading resorts is seeing an increase in conference and event bookings, as large companies look to shift their bookings from terror-struck regions such as Sharm el Sheik.

Le Meridien Limassol Spa & Resort has seen their typically busy conference period of September and October even busier than usual, with quieter months also filling fast.

Business development director Kratinos Socratous said the island`s year-round sun, coupled with modern and extensive facilities were key attractions for event and incentive organisers.

People want somewhere warm and scenic but also with plenty of activities and attractions on offer, he said.

But in today`s climate, security is also one of the biggest factors.

Le Meridien Limassol Spa & Resort is a `residents only` property set in extensive grounds by its own stretch of beach. It offers six large function rooms ranging in capacity for up to 500 guests for conferences, product launches, banquets, fashion shows, cocktail parties and more. It can also arrange group activities such as tennis, basketball, bowling and football.

The five star resort also has the most comprehensive thalassotherapy spa centre in the Eastern Mediterranean, in addition to a wide range of land and watersports.
