Delta Vacations adds new culinary experiences and tours in Italy

New hotel additions include first Lake Como property.

ATLANTA – In a move to build on growing interest in experiential tours and activities in Europe, Delta Vacations, the official vacation provider of Delta Air Lines, has added new cooking classes and walking tours in Italy.

Since 2013, Delta Vacations has seen year-over-year growth in sales of tours and activities in Italy and throughout Europe. “We continue to grow in Italy to ensure our customers have convenient access to world-class experiences in some of the world’s most popular destinations,” said John Caldwell, president of Delta Vacations.

In Rome, travelers can enjoy Italian cooking lessons taught by professional chefs and culinary walking tours that include food and wine tastings. Other new experiences in Rome include walking tours of the Borghese Gallery and Garden and of the Jewish Ghetto and Trastevere. A full-day tour of Naples and Pompeii is also now available.

Italian cooking lessons are also available in Florence. These classes include a visit to a local market with a chef to select fresh ingredients for a three-course meal.

“For first-time visitors and seasoned travelers alike, these culinary and walking tours are a unique and exciting way to experience the very best of Italy while making lasting connections with its people and culture,” said Caldwell.

Along with new activities and tours, Delta Vacations has added new properties to its portfolio in Italy. Most notable of these is the Sheraton Lake Como Hotel, which is accessible from Milan and Delta Vacations’ first property in the Lake Como region. The property is rated with four stars and features 166 guest rooms and suites.

Other hotels added are the Hotel Cellai in Florence and Hotel Colombina in Venice, which are both four-star rated.

Delta Vacations offers more ways to earn bonus miles and earn toward Medallion status in the SkyMiles program on all Delta marketed flights – including Medallion Qualification Dollars on all fares – and a guaranteed Vacation Price Pledge when booking vacation packages to any of Delta Vacations’ more than 250 destinations. SkyMiles members can earn up to 7,500 bonus miles per person, in addition to credited flight miles, with a flight and hotel vacation.
