Destinia develops the world's first hotel reservation app for Google Glass

'Hotel Near Me' lets you search for nearby hotels, sort by price, see photos, and guides you right to the hotel door. This technological advance is the result of an alliance between the online travel agency and Glob3Mobile.

MADRID – The world’s first hotel reservation app for Google Glass, called Hotel Near Me, has been developed by Destinia in collaboration with Glob3Mobile. The application enables users to find the nearest hotels based on their GPS position. By swiping the side of the glasses, users can scroll through the list, and filter them by price. With a simple click on the hotel, the glasses read out a brief description of the hotel and allows users to view photos. Users can reserve the hotel with Destinia via the glasses and then the app even guides them right to the hotel door.

“Technology is revolutionizing tourism, making the traveler’s day-to-day life easier and easier. Companies like ours must always be on the cutting edge, anticipating our clients’ needs”, stated Destinia CEO Amuda Goueli. The app is currently on Google’s internal platform, awaiting final approval. ‘We are working to perfect the augmented reality, which allows users to find hotels in their immediate vicinity. And in the future, this application will have many more features. “For example, users will be able to refine their searches with additional voice commands”, added Manuel de la Calle, co-founder of Glob3 Mobile, “a company that specializes in multi-platform mobile applications. The app will even be able to recognize users who are existing Destinia clients, displaying their reservation information and informing them on all the past reservations the agency has handled for them”.
