The European based Stein Group of hotels has launched an aggressive marketing strategy to attract more tourists from the Gulf region this summer to their properties.

Europe, and more specifically the UK, has always been a favourite destination for Middle East travellers during the summer season. Last year 450,000 visitors from the Gulf region visited the UK, with 105,000 of those from the UAE. Officials said new flights by Eithad Airways and Emirates to the UK were helping to increase visitor numbers.

“Britain’s geographical location in Europe and the network of air services has always made the country a popular destination for travellers wanting to make it their base from which to see the rest of Europe or as a stopover to the USA” said Nicki Page, Executive Director of Fusion Marketing Management the Middle East representative office for The Stein Group “However, since September 11th there has been a significant reduction in stopover business to the USA but the UK still remains a popular destination for holidaymakers from this region”.

On behalf of the Stein Group Fusion Marketing have embarked on a strategy of marketing the Stein properties in Amsterdam and London to visitors from the Middle East using specially themed packages that play to the strengths of each destination. Particular themes include a shopping package in London with the option of a personal shopper; a London sightseeing package that includes entrance to Saatchi Gallery and London Eye Wheel for two, river boat cruise along the Thames, chauffeur driven city tour and London Bus Tour for two and an Amsterdam city package complete with canal tours and cooling eye masks.
