Voted for by golfers and resort visitors, each venue was marked out of ten for the quality of its golf course, practice and leisure facilities and the warmth of the welcome and service provided by its staff.

Finca Cortesin Hotel, Golf & Spa’s reputation for delivering an unsurpassed golfing experience has been further heightened after being voted top in two categories of respected website Leadingcourses com’s 2019 Golfers’ Choice Awards.

As well as being named as the ‘Most Hospitable Golf Club in Spain’, the exclusive resort in Andalucia, southern Spain, also received the leading honour for having the ‘Best Facilities in Spain’ – beating some of Europe’s most celebrated venues.

Featuring nearly 25,000 courses in 139 countries, the Leadingcourses.com website also includes more than 600,000 hotels, resorts and villas and is available in nine languages, enabling it to reach 96 per cent of European golfers in their mother tongue.

Miguel Girbes, director of golf at Finca Cortesin Hotel, Golf & Spa, said: “Providing the best possible luxury golf experience to our members and guests is central to everything that we do at the resort, so to receive these two top accolades is very satisfying.

“From the moment golfers arrive right through to the time when they leave, it’s our aim to make people feel as special as possible, and we will strive to continue to deliver the ultimate luxury golf service to all guests in the future.”

The awards further enhance Finca Cortesin’s status as a market leader in the luxury golf resort sector, with other leading accolades including the venue winning two of the top accolades at the recent European Tour Destinations Awards – for ‘Best Staff Engagement’ and ‘Best Staff Operation’ – and being named ‘Best Resort in Spain’ by the country’s Conde Nast Traveler magazine.

Opened in March 2006 and set across a vast 532-acre estate, Finca Cortesin is regarded as one of the world’s most exclusive modern golf and lifestyle destination resorts.

Designed by American Cabell Robinson, the par-72 layout has hosted numerous high-profile tournaments including the Volvo World Match Play Championship in 2009, 2011 and 2012. Complementing the world-class golf course are outstanding practice facilities including a state-of-the-art Jack Nicklaus Golf Academy.

Located in the rolling hills of southern Spain, between Marbella and Sotogrande, with the Mediterranean to one side and the tranquil Casares Mountains to the other, Finca Cortesin’s other world-class facilities include an elegant 67-suite hotel, Hotel Cortesin; a 6,000sqm Beach Club; an award-winning spa featuring Spain’s only snow cave; and the choice of four restaurants.
