Including COVID-related health and safety facts from GIATA Drive into Business Profiles on Google.
BERLIN – The Corona Pandemic has led to hygiene standards in the hotel industry being raised and adapted to new legal requirements in order to meticulously protect guests and employees. This information should now also be made visible to bookers.
The COVID-19 hygiene hub developed by GIATA enables licensed GIATA hotels to display all internal hygiene information as well as all labels or seals – these are maintained by the hotels directly in the "GIATA Drive" system.
In this way, all procedures implemented by the hotel are recorded, covering all areas of the hotel including rooms, restaurant, bar, lobby, spa areas, pool, etc.
With the cooperation between Google and GIATA, hoteliers are now able to distribute their COVID-19 health, hygiene and safety information directly from their GIATA Drive account into their Business Profiles on Google ensuring that the information is displayed not only within GIATA’s 21.5k+ channels, but also to Google users worldwide.
“As part of our ongoing efforts to provide our users helpful information related to COVID-19, we have been working with hotels and vacation rental providers, as well as industry associations, to add more health and safety information to the results. Hoteliers using a Business Profile on Google can show their guests what measures they are taking to keep them safe while traveling. With the help of GIATA, as a content partner, licensed hotels have an even easier way to display these information on Google and help people make informed decisions.” said Lutz Behrendt, Industry Leader, Travel at Google.
Andreas Posmeck, Managing Director of GIATA, said: “High-quality hotel descriptions are the basis for a positive guest experience. Together with our long-standing partner, Google, we are helping hoteliers to communicate and continually update their COVID-19 measures, along with all other hotel details, and we are undertaking tasks that they are finding almost impossible to handle in this difficult situation. This enhanced cooperation gives hoteliers greater reach, allowing them to benefit from the network effect – all with just a few clicks in GIATA Drive.”
