Grace Hotels introduces two new Greek island properties for the 2009 summer season

Grace Hotels Group has added two more hotels to its luxury boutique collection following the signing of a management agreement with the privately owned Tsimaras Hotels Group. Both hotels are in the Ionian Islands off the west coast of Greece. The 63 room Emelisse Hotel lies on the northern coast of Kefalonia in the famous fishing village of Fiskardo and is now known as the Kefalonia Grace – Emelisse. The 19 room Perantzada Hotel is a newly opened hotel in the picturesque port of Vathy on the island of Ithaki. It is now known as the Ithaki Grace – Perantzada. The new members of the Grace family already enjoy excellent reputations in their own right and will join the acclaimed Mykonos Grace and Santorini Grace located in the Cyclades island cluster.

Commenting on the agreement, Philippe Requin Chief Executive Officer of Grace Hotels Group stated: “Both hotels are beautifully conceived and located, thus fulfilling the Grace criteria of providing understated contemporary elegance and supreme comfort at some of the world’s most stylish destinations and resorts. We are delighted to welcome them into the Grace fold and believe each will add a new dimension to the Grace collection. Meanwhile Grace branding will provide a fitting tribute to the reputation already held by these fine properties.”

CEO of Tsimaras Hotels, Haris Tsimaras, added: “The Emelisse and Perantzada clearly share a style and ethos with Grace Hotels. The properties could not, therefore, be in better hands. Grace Hotels’ senior management team brings unmatched international luxury hotel experience while the Grace name represents one of the strongest niche hotel brands to have emerged in recent years”.

The Kefalonia Grace (Emelisse) enjoys a dramatic setting on Kefalonia’s northern coast. Its extensive terraces offer perfect tranquillity and spectacular views and there is a sandy beach adjacent to the hotel. The rooms range from Executive Doubles to a choice of suites including the spectacular Presidential Suite. There are two main swimming pools, one featuring a children’s area, and a further five private pools serving five of the hotel’s guest wings. Fiskardo is the most famous and picture-perfect fishing village on the island.

The Ithaki Grace (Perantzada) is a recent re-development of a 19th century neo-classical mansion. It combines period features with the subtly elegant, modern decor that is the Grace Hotels’ trademark. Accommodation ranges from double rooms with sea views, many with balconies, to Executive and Junior Suites. Its heated infinity pool offers superb sea views. Vathy, with its elongated hidden bay is the capital of Ithaki, a quintessential Greek town with numerous tavernas, bars and cafes.

The accommodation of each hotel includes sumptuous king size beds as well as the latest AV and IT technology, such as wi-fi and flat screen satellite TV. They will carry the Grace brand with immediate effect and enjoy the full range of services that is synonymous with Grace Hotels.

In addition to Mykonos Grace, Santorini Grace, Ithaki Grace and Kefalonia Grace, more Greek island Grace Hotels are on the horizon. Kea Grace Hotel & Residences is now under development for a planned debut
