Hacienda Xcanatun by Angsana debuts an ambitious expansion

After two years of operations, Hacienda Xcanatun by Angsana presents an important expansion that elevates their current offerings and reaffirms their position as an unparalleled lodging experience.

In celebration of its second anniversary, Hacienda Xcanatun by Angsana shows a renewed face to remain as a favorite spot among locals and visitors, with an increase in its inventory of spacious suites, as well as new recreational areas, such as a solarium with poolside snack-bar, an Olympic-length swimming pool and wellness center, all of which will be open to the public starting July 2022.

The new suites are carefully designed by a renowned architecture firm in Merida, Yucatan, which focused on creating a unique mix of austere and avant-garde elements, such as natural wood, leather, regional limestone and native pasta floors, which were predominant in the henequen haciendas. The suites are therefore distinguished by their functionality, comfort, and an exquisite elegance that mimics the environment.

The solarium and pool area will have 32 lounge chairs, 14 Balinese beds, 10 lounges and 4 outdoor showers. As for the new snack bar, it will have a capacity of 50 diners and 8 more at the bar.

“It is with great satisfaction that we present this ambitious expansion project. The main objective was to reaffirm ourselves as the ideal option when it comes to luxury accommodations in Merida. We are proud to give a new face to this property that is so rich in history and architecture, and we can say that we managed to transcend, preserving its essence while creating a new concept of hospitality”, highlights Peter Hechler, Vice President of Operations for the Americas, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, from Banyan Tree Group.
