Harbor Court San Francisco reveals multimillion-dollar makeover

Boutique hotel welcomes a new era of creative, destination-inspired design with revitalized suites and lobby.

SAN FRANCISCO – Harbor Court San Francisco announced the completion of a $10 million renovation, which encompasses 131 redesigned guestrooms and suites and a brand-new lobby. A historic landmark located on downtown San Francisco's scenic waterfront, the revitalized hotel is inspired by the spirit of the city, combining a modern, edgy design with upscale amenities and tech-savvy conveniences. Positioned in the heart of SoMa, or South of Market, Harbor Court is surrounded by San Francisco tech giants and within walking distance to some of the most sought-after attractions in the city, like the Embarcadero, the Ferry Building and Exploratorium, in addition to local farmers' markets and popular boutique restaurants.

"We're thrilled to present the updated Harbor Court San Francisco to meet the needs of our guests while incorporating the hotel's ideal location and unique culture of the city," said Todd Metzger, general manager of Harbor Court San Francisco. "Our new suites and lobby were thoughtfully designed with today's leisure and business travelers in mind, and we look forward to welcoming guests to experience the new property while providing the outstanding service they have come to expect."

Harbor Court San Francisco partnered with Jackie McGee of Perkins+Will to design the hotel's new interiors, which are a reflection of the city's smart and eclectic personality. The 131 new guestrooms and suites present a distinctly modern style with a youthfully edgy vibe. Guests entering the revamped rooms and suites are welcomed with a handsome palette of charcoal, chestnut and chocolate tones that complement the new urban-industrial lighting and decor pieces. A standout blue lumbar pillow upon the bed's white, plush Frette linens ties in color of the hotel's waterfront location. Renovated bathrooms include spacious walk-in showers with luxurious Malin + Goetz bath products. With San Francisco's tech crowd in mind, all guest rooms are equipped with high-speed WiFi, HDTVs, Soundfreaq Bluetooth music alarm systems and Tuch Tablet digital directories promoting a green environment. Ranging from 165-365 square feet, guestrooms feature beautiful bay, city or courtyard views. A gourmet honor bar is stocked with organic and healthy eats for late-night nibbling. The Penthouse Suite is one of San Francisco's premier suites featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with unparalleled bay views. The penthouse has a beautifully appointed connecting guestroom to create a spectacular two-bedroom suite.

The hotel's brand-new lobby evokes a hip and innovative vibe with a sophisticated blue, cream and chocolate color palette, bookshelves and grand fireplace offset by mismatched chairs surrounding a rustic communal working table. Catering to the city's creative and tech-savvy set, the lobby offers flexible "Space to Create" co-working areas, including comfortable sofas by the fireplace and glass-enclosed meeting rooms for when privacy is preferred. The lobby's new, 24-hour Harbor Court Cafe offers guests the opportunity to grab specialty pastries, coffee, smoothies, snacks and light bites while on-the-go, working in the lobby or catching up with friends around the fireplace. The cafe also offers grab-and-go beer and wine.

Harbor Court also features Ozumo, a trendy eatery where the locals hang, serving sushi, sake and other Japanese delights in a lively, contemporary setting. The restaurant's sake lounge features one of North America's largest sake lists. For groups, Harbor Court offers solutions for hosting intimate meetings and events with room blocks and Ozumo's private dining space for up to 30 people. The hotel is adjacent to the historic Embarcadero YMCA building, where a world-class workout is guaranteed. For just $10, guests may use these exceptional facilities, which include state-of-the-art equipment, 90+ classes per week, a basketball court and Olympic-sized pool. Additional upscale amenities at the hotel include complimentary PUBLIC-brand bikes to cycle around and explore the city, a hosted wine hour each evening and complimentary artisanal coffee and teas each morning in the lobby.
