Hi-Lo Hotel opens doors early 2017

Oregon’s first Autograph Collection hotel brings refined luxury to downtown Portland.

PORTLAND, ORE. – Portland will welcome the much-anticipated Hi-Lo Hotel this New Year. Hi-Lo Hotel, part of Autograph Collection Hotels, Marriott International's distinctive portfolio of one-of-a-kind hotels, will debut in the historic Oregon Pioneer Building in downtown Portland. The city's first Autograph Collection property, Hi-Lo, will usher in a new era of refined luxury for locals, young professionals and business travelers who value one-of-a-kind experiences that are Exactly Like Nothing Else.

Hi-Lo Hotel invites guests to engage in Portland Luxury – elegant and effortless, organic and modern; the notion of mixing the High and the Low are imbued into everything the hotel does. Located in the heart of downtown Portland, the city's most relevant luxury destination reflects the Oregon landscape; raw and refined – a balance of opposites that welcomes those seeking the authentic Portland experience.

Each guest room, living space and common area feels dynamic, warm and lively. Locals and travelers alike may wander into Hi-Lo for a hand-crafted cocktail at the Lo Bar or to dine at their highly anticipated restaurant, Alto-Bajo. The hotel also provides ample meeting space with state-of-the-art technology and forward-thinking solutions.

Hi-Lo's restaurant, Alto-Bajo will serve modern Mexican in an upscale setting and is sure to draw in gourmet diners. Helmed by Michelin starred Moto alum Chef Chip Barnes, the restaurant features a menu developed in collaboration with famed Oaxacan Chef Iliana de la Vega. The menu delivers a balance of classic Mexican cuisine with the accents of contemporary style.

"My approach to food is heavily influenced by my time in Chicago and Charleston. I focus on quality ingredients, and enjoy highlighting lesser known or overlooked ingredients in order to open people up to the vast range of things that are edible and delicious. I am excited to be in Portland because there is a wide variety of these off-the-wall ingredients to play with," said Chef Barnes.

The 120-room boutique property includes five executive corner king rooms and five one-bedroom suites. All rooms are outfitted with modern organic furnishings and local hand-crafted bathroom amenities by Maak Lab featuring a custom scent designed exclusively for Hi-Lo. Guests will enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, Marriott mobile check-in, in-room entertainment systems outfitted with Netflix and a variety of apps, daily newspaper delivery and a 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center. Hi-Lo will be welcoming canine guests by partnering with a local dog bakery to provide special amenities to four-legged travelers.
