DANA POINT – Hilton Garden Inn Dana Point, a premier destination in Southern California, announces the completion of a comprehensive renovation that transformed both the interior and exterior of the property. Formerly a Doubletree Suites, the rebranded hotel has undergone an extensive makeover that includes all-new guest rooms and bathrooms, redesigned public spaces, and upgraded food & beverage spaces, all crafted to elevate the guest experience. The hotel is managed by HRI Hospitality, who spearheaded the renovation and rebranding vision through their in-house development and construction team, with design and technical support from Studio 11 Design, to bring the design vision to life.

Design
Hilton Garden Inn Dana Point’s new aesthetic embodies the essence of coastal living through bright, invigorating colors with bold patterns, drawing inspiration from the beach lifestyle. A palette of soft blues and greens, accented by vibrant yellows, light wood tones and warm neutrals, reflects the beauty of the sea, land and sky. Natural materials like fluted wood, rattan and woven textures are prominent throughout the property, creating a tactile connection to the outdoors. Nautical elements such as seashells, waves and surfboards introduce playful, curvaceous shapes that enhance the coastal atmosphere. With its vintage-inspired design, lively colors and seamless connection to nature, the overall design invites guests to relax and unwind.

New furniture offers comfortable and luxurious accommodations with warm, sand-inspired white sofas, modern carpeting, neutral headboards, vibrant pillows, colorful coffee tables, soft lighting, decorative accent wall coverings and trendy artwork. Upgraded balcony amenities include sleek outdoor tables and chairs. Guest bathrooms boast backlit mirrors, upgraded vanities and step-in showers, which have been elevated with shiny glass doors.
Food & Beverage
The renovation brings a new take on Hilton Garden Inn Dana Point’s food and beverage concepts including a revitalized lobby bar, an addition to the on-site restaurant, Doheny Surf. The new lobby bar evokes a polished yet welcoming environment showcasing a custom shelf and ceiling beam feature, neutral, earthy chairs, dusty pink and cream banquettes and rich blue bar tiles which line the bar wall.
Where coastal charm meets culinary innovation, the property’s signature restaurant Doheny Surf celebrates fresh, local ingredients, and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, featuring dishes like Fish Tacos, a Black Bean Burger and a rotating, daily fish special. The coastal-inspired restaurant has upgraded finishes throughout the space including black and natural wood chairs, deep blue and tan banquettes, and ocean blue wallcoverings lined with beach-inspired artwork.
Located on the fourth floor, Longboard Rooftop Lounge offers spectacular ocean and sunset views along with exceptional seafood forward dishes. The rooftop oasis has updated furniture throughout including plush gray couches and chairs, light yellow and cream pillows, chic white tables and vivid blue accented chairs. Stylish blue and white tiles line the bar to create a floral mosaic. Perfect for a post work cocktail or to enjoy delicious appetizers with friends, Longboard Rooftop Lounge is open daily and features dishes like Ahi Poke Nachos, Ceviche and Shrimp Cocktail.

A nod to the natural beauty of the surrounding coastline, the reimagined Hilton Garden Inn Dana Point captures the essence of the ocean with a serene, rejuvenating redesign that brings a refreshing energy to the property. A complete transformation to the atrium lobby welcomes guests to an airy, open concept that features a brand-new lobby bar, comfortable seating areas and modern furnishings. Coastal-inspired décor is thoughtfully placed throughout the property, and two custom surfboards created by internationally known designer, R’Sleigh hang behind the reception desk.
Additional renovated public spaces include an expanded fitness center equipped with new Precor fitness equipment, Peloton bikes and a dedicated strength and stretching zone. The property’s outdoor pool has been updated with crisp white lounge chairs and tables, plush light gray couches and colorful towels. Public restrooms have been updated to offer a refreshed look with deep blue tiles lining the sink wall and featuring new vanities, touchless faucets and soap dispensers. All meeting spaces have been renovated with sleek blue chairs, natural wood tables and modern carpet and wallcoverings. The renovation also includes the unveiling of a new boardroom for meetings and groups, featuring a 12-seated conference table with integrated power and high-back task chairs.
Exterior
With coastal luxury at the forefront of this renovation, the Hilton Garden Inn Dana Point’s exterior building has been painted a soft blue and white, and lush plants have been meticulously placed around the exterior. To create a streamlined check-in process, a circular driveway was incorporated and includes a dedicated drop-off area in front of the reception desk, enhancing the overall guest experience.
