Hilton Worldwide continues growth in Latin America

MCLEAN – Hilton Worldwide announced that it has opened six new hotels and signed 10 agreements in the last 12 months in Latin America. 
 
Hilton Worldwide is experiencing a period of remarkable global growth – with the industry’s largest global pipeline by rooms – and Latin America is among our leading markets for upcoming hotel openings,”  commented Danny Hughes, senior vice president, Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America, for Hilton Worldwide.  “With stable and growing economies throughout the region, Latin America continues to offer great opportunities for both business and leisure travel, and we will continue playing an active role in welcoming visitors to this dynamic part of the world.”  
 
Hilton Worldwide currently has more than 10.000 rooms among 51 hotels and resorts open and welcoming guests throughout Latin America.  The following properties joined the portfolio during the last 12 months, adding more than 1.000 Hilton Worldwide rooms to Latin America:

  • Hilton Bogota, Colombia – 245 rooms
  • DoubleTree by Hilton Saltillo, Mexico – 125 rooms
  • Hampton Inn by Hilton Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico – 120 rooms
  • Hampton Inn by Hilton Guadalajara/Expo, Mexico – 143 rooms
  • DoubleTree by Hilton Panama City – 213 rooms
  • Hilton Garden Inn Panama – 170 rooms

The development pipeline in Latin America is also growing consistently with 10 new agreements signed in the last 12 months, bringing the robust pipeline to more than 20 confirmed projects and more than 3,000 rooms – a direct result of the company’s firm efforts and commitment in the region.  Development plans include key cities and resort destinations in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama and Peru.
 
By the end of 2013, the company plans to continue expanding its presence throughout the region with the opening of 14 hotels and more than 2,000 rooms including:

  • Hilton Garden Inn Tucuman, Argentina – 103 rooms
  • Hilton Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – 259 rooms
  • DoubleTree by Hilton Merida, Mexico – 100 rooms
  • DoubleTree by Hilton Mexico City Airport – 96 rooms
  • Hilton Garden Inn Queretaro, Mexico – 102 rooms
  • Hampton Inn by Hilton San Juan del Rio, Mexico – 90 rooms

2013

  • Hilton Panama – 347 rooms
  • Hilton Garden Inn Zarate, Argentina – 160 rooms
  • Hilton Iguazu, Argentina – 165 rooms
  • Hilton Garden Inn Barranquilla, Colombia – 114 rooms
  • Hampton by Hilton Barranquilla, Colombia – 125 rooms
  • Hampton by Hilton Cartagena, Colombia – 132 rooms

Hilton Worldwide’s Latin America development team is working diligently to continue this momentum and bringing new brands to new markets, offering unique features for specific market needs.  The team is expanding Hilton Worldwide’s presence throughout the region with management and franchise agreements, including new builds and conversions.
