HomeToGo announces search for its first ever ‘Professional Nomad’ to send on a Legendary Three Month Workation

Vacation rental marketplace unveils the ultimate remote work opportunity alongside new Workation Survey Insights.

BERLIN – HomeToGo announced a search for its first ever Professional Nomad: a savvy remote worker who will have the chance to take the ultimate workation.

Traveling to amazing destinations of their choice, HomeToGo’s new Professional Nomad will receive up to three months of free vacation rental stays – valued at €10,000 – bookable via HomeToGo’s marketplace. Whether visiting a villa in Valletta or staying in a Lisbon loft, HomeToGo’s Professional Nomad will have the opportunity to test out incredible vacation rentals as ideal accommodations from which to work remotely.

Aspiring Professional Nomads can visit hometogo.de/nomad/en between 1 December 2022 – 15 January 2023 to nominate themselves for the opportunity by completing a short remote work questionnaire.

Alongside seeking its first ever Professional Nomad, HomeToGo unveiled compelling insights from a new remote work survey¹ of Germans, which reveal the extent to which the recognition of and demand for workations continues to grow:

  • 69% would prefer to work from a new destination as opposed to from home
  • 79% of Germans see a 'work from anywhere' policy as an important work benefit, outranking other perks such as free food and drink, and even unlimited holiday
  • 79% believe remote work should be a standard benefit for jobs in 2023
  • 75% indicated that they would like to take a workation next year
  • 85% believe a change of scenery has a positive impact on their productivity, with 83% and 87% noting an added benefit from warm, sunny weather and a pleasant desk view

Dr. Patrick Andrae, Co-founder & CEO, HomeToGo: “Through our own flexible work approach at HomeToGo, we have first hand experience of the positive impact workations can have on office cultures and team members – as well as an innate understanding of how important it is to find the right accommodation for a remote work trip. With privacy, space, and functional office setups, vacation rentals are the ideal accommodation for this type of travel, and we look forward to finding our first ever Professional Nomad to test this out at scale in 2023.”
