Seven hotels are set to launch in Hamburg this year including a ‘grande dame in sneakers’ and a sustainability focused property. Germany’s second largest city is the location for new hotels from Intercity Hotel, Moxy and Premier Inn.
The IntercityHotel Hamburg-Barmbek has 221 hotel rooms and five conference rooms located in the hip district of Barmbek. Located next to the city’s main railway station, the hotel has five conference and event rooms for up to 170 people.
Sustainability is a core value of the hotel which uses clean energy and has installed water-flow limiters to guarantee minimal consumption of resources. IntercityHotel Hamburg-Barmbek has a sustainable approach to waste management uses regional and seasonal products in its catering services. The hotel helps guests to minimise their carbon footprint with a FreeCityTicket which allows them to use public transport and the HADAG Elbe ferries in and around Hamburg free of charge during their stay. The hotel is scheduled to open next month (March).
A hotel that’s right in the heart of the city is the Moxy Hamburg. Built by NORD PROJECT, it’s set to open around quarter 4 in Anckelmannstraße towards the east of the city. Bar Moxy is ‘the heartbeat of the hotel’ where guests can enjoy a free cocktail while checking into one of the 291 rooms. The bar serves food and drink and is one of the many social spaces within the hotel. The Moxy is the new lifestyle hotel brand from Marriott International.
Set to open in summer 2020, the new Stilwerk Hotel Heimhude is described as a ‘grande dame in sneakers’, with an elegant yet personal look and feel. It is the first hotel from Germany’s celebrated design platform, stilwerk. The hotel is ideally located near to Hamburg Messe, city centre and the Lake Alster and conference and event facilites can be found in the associated stilwerk center nearby.
Premier Inn is set to open four hotels in very diverse districts of the city. The 219 room Premier Inn Hamburg St. Pauli opens in quarter 4 in St Pauli, the city‘s party district and home to the infamous Reeperbahn.
Premier Inn Hamburg Hauptbahnhof Süd is set to open in quarter 1 . The 104 room hotel is located next to the city’s main railway station.
Premier Inn Hamburg St. Pauli Messe opens in quarter 2. The 102 room hotel is located in the lively St Pauli district.
The 179 room Premier Inn Hamburg City Ost opens in quarter 2. Hamburg’s historic warehouse district – and UNESCO World Heritage Site – the Speicherstadt is located within easy reach.
Florian Gerdes, Marketing Manager Conventions at Hamburg Convention Bureau, explains: “These new launches expand even further our offering – the city now has 72,000 bed spaces across more than 400 hotels and other accommodations. Each of these new hotels has a distinct character which reflects the diverse nature of the city.”
