Hotel Adlon unveils newly renovated grand ballroom in Berlin

The iconic luxury hotel’s ballroom is reopening after a $2.9 million refurbishment.

NEW YORK – The iconic Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin has completed a $2.9 million renovation of its grand ballroom, incorporating the finest materials, design and colors in painstaking detail. Interior designer Anne Maria Jagdfeld has merged modernity with timeless elegance in her recreation of the Adlon's iconic ballroom.

The Hotel Adlon Kempinski has spared no expense in the exclusiveness of materials, craftsmanship and stylish concept throughout the more than 5,300-square-foot room. "We wanted to create the ideal setting for the opulent events taking place here. For all the luxuriousness of the room's decor, the focus still needs to be on the event itself," explains Matthias Al-Amiry, Managing Director of Hotel Adlon Kempinski.

Inspired by historic ballrooms, the Adlon's new ballroom features:

  • Opulent chandeliers
  • Soft Versailles-style carpet-parquet flooring created by the world-renowned House of Tai Ping
  • Giant mirrors crafted by Verre D'Or, and inspired by famed designer Emma Peascod's "reverse glass gilding" technique
  • Wall lighting by Venini, the glass masters of Murano, Italy
  • Gold-colored reflectors that bathe the room in warm light
  • The finest materials sourced locally and nationally in Germany

The Adlon ballroom can be set up to host celebrations, conferences and meetings of all sizes, with catering provided by the hotel's award-winning kitchens, or with new live cooking stations set up within the ballroom.
