Around 30 expressions of interest concerning proposals for the building of new hotels and upgrades of existing units have been submitted to the Hellenic Tourism Organisation (EOT) thus far.
Among the leading companies is the Astir Vouliagmeni chain which has submitted four proposals involving the transformation of buildings in Athens and Vouliagmeni into hotels.
The company Greek Tourist Enterprises has tendered five proposals for the creation of hotel units on EOT-owned property in Varkiza, Anavyssos, Flisvos, Zea and Voula.
The Hyatt chain, which is gaining a foothold in accommodation units in Athens, has also expressed substantial interest.
