Hotelier Summit Africa concluded on a high note, drawing 400+ participants

Hotelier Summit Africa witnessed the presence of more than 200 buying delegates who visited the forum to meet 71 suppliers of top-class hospitality products and services.

The 2017 edition of Hotelier Summit Africa (North), which drew over 400 industry representatives to promote growth in the hospitality sector, has concluded on a grand note at Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort in Morocco.

The summit witnessed the presence of more than 200 buying delegates who visited the forum to meet 71 suppliers of top-class hospitality products and services. Over 1,500 pre-scheduled face-to-face meetings transpired during the course of the event.

“It was a great pleasure to host the 13th Edition Hotelier Summit in Morocco. The summit witnessed several concrete discussions on the megatrends coming up in the hospitality industry which are deciding the future of tourism.

The compelling agenda at the summit addressed many issues of the industry, providing our attendees with an unprecedented opportunity to comprehend and interact with the experts. I am confident that our participants found the summit to be exceptionally beneficial, and the experience will enable them to grow their organizations in the near future” said Ravi Kumar Chandran, Director of IDE, organizers of the Hotelier Summit North Africa.

The annual Summit, a two-day event, brought together thought leaders and industry professionals from around the world who spoke about the constantly evolving hospitality landscape, its challenges, continuous innovation and transformation. One of the key speakers was Dr. Enan El Galaly, Founder of Helnan International Hotels.

“Some African countries have made a huge progress in the tourism sector during the last decades. However, to be a tourist destination, it is not enough to just build hotels, but also develop and train Human Resources who are able to serve professionally in different positions. Hospitality professionals must keep in mind that a tourist today might become an investor tomorrow,” said Dr. Enan El Galaly, Founder of Helnan International Hotels.

This year, as a tribute to the leading hospitality developers in the North Africa region; IDE hosted the Honorarium Grand, which honoured key professionals of the region for their progressive contributions in spite of the various challenges involved. The honourees were Michel Nassour, CEO, Al Qudra Holding; Kamal Bensoula, CEO, Atlas Hospitality; Dr Enan El Galaly, Founder, Helnan International Hotels; Ghaby Kodeih, CEO, SHRL; Khaled Soliman, Group CEO, Serenity Hotels Egypt; Mohammed El Merini, General Manager, Eagle Hills Morocco; Nabil Slitine, Founder & MD, Downtown Hotel  Corporation; and Saida Bennani Smires, CEO, Le Salman Palace.

The ceremony was concluded by Kamal Bhelghmi, Founder of Bluestone Hospitality Consulting, the Premier Knowledge Partner of the summit who said: “The hospitality sector in North Africa is clearly on an upward growth trend, and this will not slow down any time soon. In the recent past investors from all over the world are looking at this region as the next frontier of exponential growth.”

After this most recent success, it is just a matter of time before IDE achieves their vision of developing Africa in such a manner, that every African has access to affordable housing and Africa is looked up to as a progressive region of growth on the global real estate map.

The next IDE initiative in Africa is the 18th Edition Design Mission Africa, which is taking place on November 23rd – 24th in Johannesburg, South Africa. The summit caters to the residential, commercial, hospitality healthcare sectors as well as mix-used projects.
