Hotels.com reveals budget-friendly international cities

Latest Hotels.com Hotel Price Index reveals affordable alternatives for travelers looking for an international adventure. Hotel stays in international treasures were less than the average price paid in the U.S. in the first half of 2015.

DALLAS – U.S. travelers are always looking to visit the most sought-after international destinations of London, Paris and Rome, but there are under-the-radar destinations beyond these top locales that travelers may not consider. The Hotels.com Hotel Price Index (HPI) identified alternative vacation spots that travelers can visit offering equally exciting adventures on a budget.

In the first half of 2015, U.S. travelers paid an average of $164 a night for international hotel stays according to the HPI. In the first half of 2014, the average was $179 a night when going abroad. Similarly, 13 out of the 15 unique locations below experienced a price drop this year in relation to the first six months of last year, and a third of these destinations experienced a substantial decrease of over a 10%. It’s become less expensive to get an adventure fix, or touch relaxation at some of these underestimated destinations around the world.
