Hotelzon signs a global direct connectivity deal with IHG

The world’s largest hotel company by number of rooms, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a global direct connectivity deal with Hotelzon, Europe’s leading software supplier and hotel booking agent.

The deal will see IHG adopt Hotelzon’s system integration service and become a preferred partner for 4,500 of its hotels in over 100 countries.

The agreement will benefit IHG with a cost effective transparent distribution channel directly to thousands of corporate and travel agency customers. Working directly with Hotelzon, IHG will bypass more traditional electronic booking tools and allow Hotelzon direct access into its inventory.

Benefits to IHG will include a reduction in the cost per booking, a 100% automated process from customer to hotel and the deal will give IHG access to automated processing to include electronic invoicing, prepayments and paperless booking. The real time availability will speed up the transfer of hotel bookings between Hotelzon and IHG, thus significantly reducing the manual process for the hotels. Updating the hotel revenue management system is reflected in real time and most importantly ensures that no accidental overbooking can be made.

Jani Kaskinen, CEO of Hotelzon said, “This is fantastic news to have IHG come on board. The brand’s reservations system will see an immediate benefit from the partnership and will save hotels significant money by cutting out the middle man. This deal is testament to the recognition of the status Hotelzon has developed within the industry.”

Hotelzon operates offices in 13 countries including Finland, China and the UK and Europe. Hotelzon’s hotel booking system offers availability, price information and booking functionality for over 100,000 hotels worldwide.
