Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa makes a splash this winter with new Lazy River Waterpark

The resort’s $7.1 million waterpark expansion adds new aquatic attraction to Florida’s west coast.

BONITA SPRINGS, FLA. – Southwest Florida's iconic Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa, a TripAdvisor "Hall of Fame" resort, recently opened its $7.1 million waterpark just in time for the winter travel season. The new attraction includes three, three-story waterslides with two speed slides and one inner-tube slide with a 1,095-foot heated lazy river. Adding one acre to the hotel's existing two-acre pool area makes Hyatt Regency Coconut Point's complex one of the largest resort poolscapes in Florida.

This waterpark addition joins the resort's existing 2,700-square-foot Waterfall Pool with cool-water cascades, 5,000-square-foot heated Adventure Pool with a 140-foot corkscrew slide and free-form lagoon-style pool, as well as an adults-only heated pool with an adjacent hot tub. All of the resort's pool amenities are available exclusively to registered overnight hotel guests.

"The addition of this exhilarating water experience allows us to deliver an original destination for both families and groups that leverages our year-round tropical climate," said Brian Kramer, general manager, Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa. "We knew that visitors already enjoyed our pool area, so we wanted to expand on that idea and take it to the next level to create a one-of-a-kind experience on the west coast of Florida."

This expansion is another benefit for groups, in addition to the resort's $4.1-million meeting rooms and ballroom renovation that concluded in early 2016. The waterpark will serve as a multifunctional recreation area, while bringing new culinary offerings with both a food truck and the newly renovated Corkscrew Pool Bar.
