ICYMI: South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF) welcomed Barcelona’s iconic Majestic Hotel & Spa

For the first time ever, the five-star hotel participated in the star-studded, four-day destination event showcasing the world’s most renowned wine and spirits producers, chefs and culinary personalities.

MΙΑΜΙ, FL – Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona arrived at Miami Beach, Florida for the 22nd anniversary of The Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival. Each year, the national, star-studded event welcomes talents of the world’s most renowned wine and spirits producers, chefs and culinary personalities. David Romero, executive chef at Majestic Hotel, was the only chef from Spain that participated in this year’s festival, making this a distinguishable accomplishment for the hotel.

For the first time ever, the iconic, award-winning, five-star Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona marked its entrance as a benchmark of haute cuisine. The hotel has been a symbol of five-star hotel excellence since 1918 and member of the Leading Hotels of the World since 2015, becoming a benchmark of timeless elegance in luxury, style and nouvelle cuisine around the world. Its Majestic Breakfast Experience was recognized at the 2018 by the Prix Villégiature awards as the best breakfast in Europe for its selection of top-quality products and proximity, always hand in hand with Mediterranean flavors.

With a rich tradition behind it and 105 years of history, Majestic plays an emblematic role in the most fascinating gastronomic experiences and will join the nation’s most acclaimed chefs and top wineries from around the world. Always faithful to their farm-to-table philosophy and under direction of the hotel’s chef consultant [Michelin Star Nandu Jubany] and executive chef [David Romero], Majestic offers a unique gastronomic sharing experience, ready to delight all palates under the emblem of the highest quality and care, with an innovative and avant-garde touch. Each event will surprise even the most distinctive appetites and deliver the finest products in tribute to the Catalan culture.

At Majestic Hotel, guests can enjoy the best views of the city from La Dolce Vitae Rooftop, the hotels crown jewel. The view is also paired with a-la-carte menus, curated by season with a selection of traditional Spanish and Mediterranean dishes. The hotel’s main restaurant, SOLC, is located on the 1st floor of the hotel and was designed as a tribute to the local produce used in Catalonian cuisine throughout history, offering local, seasonal, Mediterranean dishes prepared with the finest quality ingredients, delighting even the most selective palates.

The weekend with Majestic Hotel kicked off on Thursday, February 23rd with an immersive dinner experience at LEKU restaurant from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Two virtuosic artists – LEKU’s Chef, Carlos Garcia and Majestic’s Chef, David Romero – both headliners, revealed a profoundly personal approach to their region’s classics. The private event allowed invitees to both see and taste the splendor of Northern Spain just as they do.

“With passion and respect to our cuisine, we brought a series of carefully curated dishes, showcasing the best of our cuisine,” said executive chef David Romero at Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona. “The unforgettable experience guided guests through flavors of the land, sea and setting of Basque cuisine. We have no doubt that our diners left with the desire to visit Barcelona and Majestic Hotel & Spa.”

Additionally, Majestic participated in Friday’s Best of the Best, presented by Wine Spectator and sponsored by Capital One. This event paired over 60 of the nation’s most acclaimed chefs with more than 65 first-rate wineries from around the globe. The Fontainebleau Miami Beach set the perfect stage on Friday, February 24th with a swanky walkaround tasting, spotlighting a superb roster of James Beard Award winners, Food & Wine Best New Chefs, and Michelin-starred restaurants alongside some of the world’s most renowned winemakers.

“It was an honor to be a part of the over 450 leaders in hospitality uniting at this year’s SOBEWFF. This experience offered Majestic Hotel & Spa visibility in the U.S. market, especially South Florida, which is one of our top markets,” said Pascal Billard, CEO of Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona. “We hope that through this collaboration and participation, we are able to connect and inspire others to explore international cities like Barcelona and stay at hotels like Majestic Hotel & Spa, where we value and prioritize the quality of our gastronomy and cultural offerings.”
