ILTM North America 2022, 10th and largest edition, almost 20% bigger than any previous edition

ILTM now moves to luxury resort destination Baha Mar in the Bahamas, with next year’s dates confirmed as 18–21 September.

Almost 20% bigger than any previous edition, the 10th edition of ILTM North America took place in Mayakoba, Riviera Maya in Mexico this week, its final edition before moving to the Bahamas from 2023.

With 420 exhibitors from 70 countries (including 33% new guests) meeting with 420 buyers coming from 154 cities across the USA, Canada and Mexico, over 23,000 one-to-one matched appointments took place throughout last week. Participants reported business generating conversations from the scheduled appointments, the many social networking opportunities and events as well as opportunities to connect with the VIP luxury travel media from North America, Brazil and Mexico in attendance.

Liam Sweeney of Tourism Australia added: “This is without a doubt my favourite show of the year. The advisors are not only always eager and excited to meet, they really do want to meet with us. Every meeting is excellent and we now have an even better group of high level productive advisors as our partners.”

Anton Moore, General Manager of Gansevoort Meatpacking in New York added: “A remarkable week at ILTM North America as always, and what has stood out to me as travel comes roaring back is the willingness for clients to try something new and meaningful, returning to cities but open to discovering new neighborhoods. From the conversations in the early morning to the festive evenings, it is clear that the travel advisors are hungry for knowledge and discovery.”

And Jill O’Hare of the soon to open Raffles London at the OWO commented: “Here at ILTM North America, we really are given the time to tell the story of our soon to open hotel and capture the agents’ – as well as the editors’ – imaginations. It’s been a truly fantastic week.”

Doug Lindauer, Ted Turner Reserves with XO Private commented: “This show blew me away – every single appointment has been spot on. The agents are informed and ready to partner and I’m looking forward to exciting business ahead.”

Philip Pena, of Hilton Luxury Brands added: “This has been an incredible week connecting with so many luxury travel advisors here at ILTM North America 2022. This is such an important luxury travel show to attend where one can meet some of the most experienced and dedicated luxury travel professionals from the region. We are always excited to participate in every engagement opportunity ILTM creates and are very much looking forward to ILTM North America 2023 in the Bahamas.”

And Ruztique Toscano and Suzanne Shalaby of Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts concluded: “ILTM North America just gets better and better and we are so happy to grow with the event next year and beyond. We meet the best buyers here – in fact, we thought we knew everyone there was to know in this industry, but this event has delivered so many more!  We are confident of a major ROI on our week.”

The buyers too were equally delighted with their ILTM North America experiences. Amy Furie at New Act Travel said: “ILTM are the best shows – so relevant with a real understanding between buyers and suppliers. We’re true partners working together and ILTM sets the scene for that collaboration. And we’re looking forward to the new location – wherever ILTM grows, we will surely follow.”

Jordin Greene, VP Hotel Partnerships at Signature Travel Network commented: “This is one of my favourite industry shows of the year – so targeted and so productive and in such a relaxed atmosphere. I am very much looking forward to next year in a new destination where we will hopefully meet even more important global hotel product.”

Joe Pcolinsky, Manager of Partner Relations at FROSCH said: “This is my first ILTM and I can’t get over how invigorating and inspirational it is. The success comes from the exhibitors that ILTM curates on our behalf. Moving to the Bahamas will bring an equally fresh perspective and if it’s as informative as this week has been, our clients will be delighted.”

Ana Paula Rosete at Mexico’s Turismo EXMAR added: “I have participated in ILTM North America for many years and the event never fails to strengthen my business connections and bonds of friendship among the luxury travel community of hotels and destinations across the world, as well as with other travel agent colleagues.”

Alejandra Martín del Campo, Founding Partner, T- Journeys Mexico: “ILTM North America is so smooth – very well-organised business appointments with great connections.  Every single appointment has been very productive, and I would love to participate in future editions.”

ILTM now moves to luxury resort destination Baha Mar in the Bahamas, with next year’s dates confirmed as 18 – 21 September.
