Business travellers have once again confirmed Inter-Continental<.> Hotels and Resorts as their first choice in the Middle East by handing the luxury chain a flurry of prestigious awards.

Inter-Continental was named as the region`s Best Hotel Chain in the Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2002, the region`s leading independent poll of travel consumers.

The magazine`s much-travelled readers also honoured Inter-Continental properties in Amman, Beirut, Cairo, Jeddah, Riyadh, and Muscat as the best business hotels in their local markets.

Completing a remarkable Awards success for Inter-Continental Hotels and Resorts, the chain`s trend-setting Six Continents Club was voted Best Hotel Loyalty Programme.

These awards mean a great deal as they are decided by the individual votes of business travellers who demand the best, and obviously feel Inter-Continental gives them that, said Raymond Khalife, President, Six Continents Hotels, Middle East and Africa, which currently manages 33 Inter-Continental hotels and resorts in the Middle East.

Khalife collected the Best Hotel Chain in the Middle East Award from celebrity photographer Lord Lichfield at the recent Business Traveller Awards gala event in Dubai.

The award for Best Hotel Loyalty Programme was received by Denis Johnson, Six Continents Hotels` regional Vice President, Sales and Marketing.

The individual Best Business Hotel Awards for the Hotel Inter-Continental Jordan in Amman, the Phoenicia Inter-Continental Beirut, the Semiramis Inter-Continental Cairo, the Jeddah Inter-Continental Hotel, the Hotel Inter-Continental Riyadh, and the Al Bustan Palace Inter-Continental in Muscat, were collected by the respective general managers, Gunter Grigoleit, Francois Chopinet, Michel Tourniare, Bandar Harbi, Chris Moloney and Issa Al Hajri.

Business Traveller is the best-selling business travel magazine in the world, with separate editions in the UK, USA, Germany, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
