It`s a new day at InterContinental Hotels Group. Steve Porter, president, the Americas region, has asked 2,500 corporate employees based in the Americas to support more than 3,500 hotel general managers, directors of sales and sales managers in a multi-brand sales blitz reaching more than 50,000 customers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Latin America regions. This event will take place the week of August 18 and marks the company`s first major, multi-brand initiative involving both corporate and hotel staff since InterContinental Hotels Group emerged this year as an independent company focused on hotels.

InterContinental Hotels Group owns, manages, leases or franchises more than 3,300 hotels and 515,000 guestrooms in nearly 100 countries and territories globally. The Group owns a portfolio of well-recognized and respected hotel brands, including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites.

I started my career in the hospitality industry and am a true hotelier at heart, said Porter. Twenty-seven years later, I haven`t forgotten about the challenges of keeping our customers coming back and fostering owner/property profitability. That is why I have asked our employees to support our hotels and me in reaching out to our best customers as well as potential customers to let them know how much we appreciate them. With some of the most recognized and respected hotel brands along with our Priority Club Rewards program, we have an unparalleled opportunity to meet and exceed our guests` travel and meeting needs.

Employees will work with hotels to saturate key markets and hundreds of secondary and tertiary markets in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Latin America. Three months of training, planning and coordinating have helped put more than 7,000 feet on the street to represent the scope and scale of the world`s most global hotel company.

Tom Seddon, senior vice president, Americas Brand Performance, added, This event reinforces the superior return on investment our system offers. Everyone from a Holiday Inn Express to InterContinental will be on the street at the same time with one common goal. Just another example of how we are leveraging the breadth and diversity of the system to drive revenue.
