Column-free ballrooms and cozy breakout spaces offer capacity for over 900 people.

CHICAGO – Marriott International, Inc. announce the completion of a comprehensive event space renovation at the JW Marriott Chicago. The 610-room full-service hotel located 151 Adams Street is owned by Rialto Capital Advisers and managed by Marriott International, Inc. The renovation project was managed by H-CPM of West Caldwell, NJ and the general contractor was Bulley & Andrews of Chicago, IL. Whitespace Interiors of Chicago, IL, was responsible for the new concept and context of the makeover.

Centrally located on Chicago’s famous Loop and 18 miles from Chicago O’Hare International Airport, the 12-story hotel offers guests convenient access to Union Station, Chicago Theatre, the Art Institute of Chicago, Willis Tower, Millennium Park, Navy Pier, Shedd Aquarium and Soldier Field. History and architecture

Nestled in the heart of the financial district, the JW Marriott Chicago typifies the diverse and architectural history that the city of Chicago is known for. Established in 1914, the majestic building showcases the architectural imprint of Chicago’s Daniel Burnham. Renowned as the Director of Works for the 1892 – 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition, famously dubbed “The White City,” Burnham’s legacy lives on in the JW Marriott Chicago hotel. Originally the Continental and Commercial Bank, the hotel stands as a timeless gem in the tapestry of Chicago’s architectural heritage.

Reimagined event space

The newly designed event spaces offer a lavish experience, where inspiring architecture and award-winning service seamlessly connect with newly curated interiors designed with the intention of creating the perfect ambiance for distinguished gatherings and memorable moments. The expansive column-free ballrooms provide an ideal balance of flexibility and privacy. From cozy breakout spaces to opulent ballrooms, The JW Marriott Chicago accommodates gatherings for up to 912 people, presenting a masterful fusion of functionality and allure. The meticulous layout of the event space guarantees a seamless and convenient flow, with multiple levels interconnected by elevators and escalators, enhancing the overall experience of any event.

Ballrooms and breakout spaces

The Grand Ballroom boasts 8,008 square feet of adaptable and versatile meeting space that can be customized to meet the needs of the specific gathering. It can be portioned into three separate rooms, offering the ease and convenience of achieving the guest’s desired vision. The Burnham Ballroom, named for the architect of the building, offers graceful arched ceilings, sparkling chandeliers and golden hues to evoke Europe’s most magnificent galleries. The JW Marriott Chicago also offers 37 distinct breakout rooms, these captivating spaces provide an inspirational environment capable of accommodating 400 people.

Accomodations and amenities

The JW Marriott Chicago features 610 luxurious and spacious guestrooms with nine-foot ceilings and beautiful crown molding. The five-fixture bathrooms offer a soaking tub, separate shower, water closet and dual vanity sinks. Sleep in comfort with a king-sized bed or two queen beds and enjoy the in-room refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, safe and doubled-paned windows for a peaceful night’s sleep.

Additional hotel amenities include an indoor pool and whirlpool spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center with group fitness classes and personal training, and The Spa at JW Chicago featuring 20,000 square feet infrared treatment rooms. Dining at the JW Marriott Chicago includes an onsite Italian American restaurant – The Florentine, serving breakfast lunch and dinner, a lobby bar serving cocktails and lite fare, Savor by JW – room service and the Executive Lounge for members only.
