Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants expands to Northern Arizona with the purchase of Amara Resort And Spa

Located in the heart of uptown Sedona with beautiful views of Oak Creek and the iconic red rocks, the luxurious Amara Resort and Spa is just a two-minute walk from shops, galleries, wine tasting and restaurants.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has announced the purchase of Amara Resort and Spa in Sedona, Arizona. The 100-room, boutique property is Kimpton’s third hotel in Arizona, joining Hotel Palomar in Phoenix and Firesky Resort & Spa in Scottsdale.

Located in the heart of uptown Sedona with beautiful views of Oak Creek and the iconic red rocks, the luxurious Amara Resort and Spa is just a two-minute walk from shops, galleries, wine tasting and restaurants. The hotel combines the tranquillity of its scenic location with Kimpton’s signature customer care and stylish ambience to offer a top-rated Northern Arizona base for both leisure and business travellers.

Amara Resort and Spa re-opened in September 2012 following a $2 million renovation, including a new, infinity-edge saltwater pool and upgrades to the restaurant, outdoor event space, fitness centre and lobby. Kimpton is planning additional renovations to further align the resort with its high standards of design and comfort, and Amara already offers several of the brand’s popular complimentary perks such as the InTouch loyalty scheme, hosted evening wine hour from 5pm – 6pm, daily tea and coffee service in the living room lobby, in-room yoga mats and bicycle hire.

Guests at Amara Resort and Spa can also experience the beauty of Sedona from the hotel’s popular restaurant, Hundred Rox. Overlooking the infinity pool and natural landscape, the restaurant recently introduced alfresco dining in an outdoor space dotted with water features and romantic fire pits.

Following strong growth in urban metropolitan areas across the USA over the last decade, Kimpton has recently focused on opportunities in high leisure resort destinations. Chief Executive Officer, Mike Depatie, says: “We’re proud to add the Amara Resort and Spa to our collection. We saw an opportunity to expand to Sedona, a very desirable resort destination for travellers due to its ideal weather, stunning views and serene environment. It’s a perfect addition to our growing roster of hotels because it further expands our presence in popular leisure markets, adding to hotels we already have open or in development in Scottsdale, Vero Beach, South Beach, Miami, Aspen and Palm Springs.”
