Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants’ Hotel Palomar gives chic makeover to all meeting and event spaces

Hotel Palomar’s new design celebrates legacy style with unexpected colours and patterns, encompassing all 10,000 square feet of the hotel’s seven meeting and event spaces as well as corridor and prefunction areas.

Kimpton Hotels & RestaurantsHotel Palomar, located in the vibrant Dupont Circle neighbourhood of Washington D.C., just got more sophisticated with a chic redesign to all meeting and event spaces. Inspired by the universities of Georgetown just blocks away, Hotel Palomar’s new design celebrates legacy style with unexpected colours and patterns, encompassing all 10,000 square feet of the hotel’s seven meeting and event spaces as well as corridor and prefunction areas.

Los Angeles-based team Powerstrip Studios designed Hotel Palomar’s meeting rooms to be bright with a contemporary university club ambiance and bespoke furnishings within. In the hotel’s premier space, the nearly 2,200 square foot Phillips Ballroom, contemporary flair abounds with modern chevron wallpaper, high contrast boldly patterned carpet meant to emulate marquetry floorings found in classic old halls, and mirrored columns that let natural light reflect throughout the large spaces making it ideal for wedding receptions, social events, and hosting groups and meetings of up to 300 guests.

Hotel Palomar’s National Room emulates both the size and sophisticated design of the Phillips Ballroom, while the hotel’s more intimately sized meeting spaces – Kreeger, Hirshhorn, Freer, Corcoran, and the Boardroom – feature colourblocked linen curtains, herringbone print wallpaper, and timeless, yet contemporary light fixtures. The redesigned meeting spaces now flow seamlessly into the hallways, which also double as stylish prefunction space, and wall coverings in a rich charcoal evoke a well-studied library collection found at a university.

To top off the perfect event experience, guests can dig into catering exclusively provided by executive chef Ethan McKee of Hotel Palomar’s adjacent restaurant, Urbana Dining & Drinks. Chef McKee’s creative menus feature hand-selected, fresh seasonal ingredients and artisanal goods as well as extensive wine and Italian-leaning craft cocktail menus that can be tailored for any event.

Conveniently located less than two blocks from Dupont Circle, the 335-room  Palomar Washington D.C., a Kimpton Hotel is located at 2121 P Street, N.W., in Washington, D.C.
