One of Phuket`s most popular and prestigious hotels, Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort, has announced that it will re-open on 15 August 2005.

We are back in business and the hotel looks fantastic. We have spent a number of months preparing for the opening and I`m sure that all our visitors will be delighted with the fresh new look that we have given to this fabulous hotel. During the closure we have been able to undertake several refurbishment projects that would normally not be possible in a functioning hotel. said Philippe Seigle, regional general manager, Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort.

This is one of the best hotels in Asia, considered a second home by thousands of families and repeat guests. I can assure them that their favourite paradise in Phuket is back and it is better than ever, said Mr Seigle.

Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort has completely refurbished the reception, main lobby, swimming pools and several restaurants. Public areas of the hotel now have a contemporary Thai style with the use of fabrics and silks from the Mae Fah Luang Foundation – an organization established by Her Royal Highness the Princess Mother to promote hill tribe products.

There is a new feel to the resort, but the same excellent service standards will remain. We have supported our 700 staff throughout this closure period and are delighted to be working again as one team serving our guests, added Seigle.

All facilities will be operational from August 15, except for Le Spa, which is being extended and undergoing refurbishment and will open at the beginning of October. Massage rooms, however, will be available for use.

Occupying a superb site on Relax Beach on Phuket`s western coast, the hotel is five minutes to Patong Beach, 30 minutes to Phuket Town and 45 minutes from Phuket International Airport. The resort features 470 rooms and suites and its own secluded beach, lush gardens and coconut groves occupying 40 acres that nestle beside the rejuvenating influence of the sparkling Andaman Sea.
