Le Relais Bernard Loiseau completes first phase of major redesigns

The second stage of the project will be completed in March 2023, including updates to the lobby, the historic 2-Michelin-starred restaurant La Côte d’Or and the gastronomic kitchen. By the end of 2023, the renovations are expected to be complete with upgrades made to all of the rooms.

NEW YORK – Le Relais Bernard Loiseau, the renowned 5-star countryside Relais & Châteaux hotel located in the heart of Burgundy, has completed the first stage of a major renovation project, overseen by architect Arnaud Behzadi. This multi-stage redesign of the historic institution will take place in phases through 2023, the year that marks the 20th anniversary of the passing of legendary Chef Bernard Loiseau.

In June 2022, Le Relais Bernard Loiseau unveiled full redesigns of three rooms, two of which have been redesigned as “cocoon” suites, with a completely new look that blends innovation and tradition, incorporating the warm colors and traditional materials characteristic of the Burgundy region. As the concept behind the redesign is to offer the feeling of “luxury in nature,” the “cocoon” suites feature enclosed beds that evoke the feeling of a bird’s nest.

This marks the first renovation on this scale in 30 years by the Bernard Loiseau brand, which is now overseen by the new Loiseau generation, led by Dominique Loiseau at the helm, along with their children: Vice President Bérangère Loiseau, Board Member Bastien Loiseau and Blanche Loiseau, Demi-Chef de Partie at La Côte d’Or.
