Lesego Moiteela is appointed Deputy General Manager at Desert & Delta’s Chobe Game Lodge

As a proud citizen of Botswana, Lesh is committed to empowering local communities and protecting the rich and diverse wildlife found in the magnificent country.

Desert & Delta has appointed Lesego (Lesh) Moiteela as Deputy General Manager at their five-star Chobe Game Lodge. Born in the small town of Serowe in Botswana, Lesh left school at a young age to pursue a career in the hotel industry in Gaborone. During his time there, he gained expansive and in-depth knowledge of the tourism industry, specifically in Botswana, which he has brought to the Chobe Holdings Operation division with enthusiasm and determination.

Having completed a comprehensive course in Hotel and Restaurant Management in 1999 followed by two further diplomas in Lodge Management in 2001 and 2004, and then a Management Development Course (MDP) through the University of Stellenbosch Business School in 2015, Lesh has acquired an extraordinary amount of extensive knowledge and experience in African tourism with a focus on safari lodge management. With his impressive education, coupled with experience working at Walt Disney World and 17 years working in luxury tourism in Botswana, Lesh has successfully brought a new perspective and innovative insight into the future of safari lodge management to Desert & Delta.

As a proud citizen of Botswana, Lesh is committed to empowering local communities and protecting the rich and diverse wildlife found in the magnificent country. In his previous roles, Lesh was a Cultural Ambassador and Community Relationship Manager, partnered with the Botswana Tourism Organisation, NGOs, and governmental departments, is a board member of the Hospitality and Tourism Association of Botswana, and provided sustainability and fundraising initiatives for the CITW Botswana. Even during the pandemic, Lesh ensured he played his part in protecting the community. He successfully ran and coordinated a dedicated Hospitality, Tourism and Services vaccination centre in Maun in 2021, being an inspiration to the entire Botswana Tourism industry. As a result of his remarkable hard work, Lesh was nominated to be part of the CSI committee representative for Botswana at the 2022 Victoria Falls’ Africa’s Eden trade show – a true honour he is exceptionally proud of.

Lesh has dedicated much of his time to protecting the people and wildlife of Botswana in an admirable and respectable manner. He is thrilled to have the chance to bring his passion and pride with him to Desert & Delta Safaris.

“In Chobe Holdings’ sphere of ecotourism as a primary business, it is heart-warming and assuring to be working for a company that has real and achieved aspirations of Investing in Wildlife, Investing in People, Investing in Botswana. I could not have been luckier to have an opportunity to join such esteemed company during these tough COVID-19 times” explains Lesh.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lesh to his new role as Deputy General Manager at Chobe Game Lodge. With his warm and friendly demeanour and his commitment to excellence in hospitality and tourism in Botswana, we cannot wait to see what exciting initiatives he will create and be a part of in the future.” Delights Lempheditse Odumetse, Group Managing Director of Chobe Holdings.
