“Liodentra” guesthouse: Capture authentic hospitality in Greece’s Peloponnese

A new addition to the Aria Hotels’ Portfolio.

ATHENS – The privately owned boutique hotel and villas company Aria Hotels offers yet another authentic hospitality experience, this time in the Peloponnese, with “Liodentra” guesthouse in Kardamyli. This new addition to the Aria Hotels portfolio is a perfect seaside family retreat, located in the picturesque and unspoilt Mani Peninsula.

In Greek folklore, “Liodentra” derives from the word “Elaiodentra”, which means Olive Trees. Harmoniously integrated into the natural surroundings of Kardamyli’s olive groves, the stone-built complex consists of one ground level studio and two 2-storey houses. All enjoy views of the beautiful surrounding landscape and direct access to the deep blue Mediterranean Sea. Respect for the environment and homage to traditional construction are enduring themes throughout the property. Stone, wood and metal were used by local craftsmen, resulting in an inspiring example of vernacular architecture.

Set in magnificent gardens, the two 2-storey houses are furnished with antiques that have been carefully collected over the years from all over the world. These include an authentic 19th-century treasure chest, a German bookcase from the Alps, a vintage English washstand, along with Persian carpets and French engravings. All contribute to an interior design of exquisite aesthetics and unique atmosphere. Each two-storey house extends to 135 sq. m. and comprises two bedrooms that can accommodate at least four people, plus two and three bathrooms respectively as well as two large living areas. They feature a traditional balcony and a large terrace with metal pergola – a great option for relaxing afternoons or dinner under the moonlight.

The 38 sq. m. ground floor studio is an enchanting small-scale cottage and a favourite with couples. It comprises a single room and has a separate bathroom. It is similarly built with reverence for local traditions.

Combining tradition with modern comforts, the complex features a 13-metre swimming pool and sun terrace with shade provided by olive trees and umbrellas. The grounds also include a safe play area for children, who will appreciate the swings, the slide and the seesaw. The property is also a perfect setting for special celebrations, such as weddings or intimate parties with friends. The area is also an ideal choice for fishing or exploring the sea. Ritsa beach is a few steps away from “Liodentra”, and its clear, blue waters are perfect for swimming or canoeing.
