The opening marks one of the most notable hotel launches in the MENA region.
Orascom Hotels Management, the hotels management arm of Orascom Development, has announced that its newest hotel, The Chedi El Gouna, will open its doors at its flagship Egyptian Red Sea resort on 1 December 2022.
Taking bookings from 15 October 2022, the five-star beachfront hotel offers guests 82 elegant rooms and suites. Once inside, guests will discover a choice of gourmet restaurants, tropical-style pools and private beaches, fitness and activity areas, and its crowning jewel, a tranquil spa.
The Chedi El Gouna represents the pinnacle of El Gouna’s luxury hotel offering, with its tagline ‘lean into the hush’ chosen to reflect the hotel’s serenity. With charming character and a stunning beachfront location, complemented by The Chedi’s signature Asian aesthetics of intuitive luxury, timeless design, and contemporary cool experience, The Chedi El Gouna will be a sumptuous, eco-friendly getaway.
Suites and Rooms
All suites and rooms take a sleek modern, yet understated design, creating a tranquil atmosphere that promotes relaxation, while the earthy colour palette and natural materials add a touch of warmth.
While a spa-focused hotel, The Chedi El Gouna welcomes families with children who can enjoy their stay in the family suites available. Children’s meals have been carefully curated, and a selection on toys and entertainment come with the suite, freeing up precious space in luggage.

The hotel features three pools: the main pool, a shallow social pool, and a children’s splash pool with sunshade. The hotel is situated on an exclusive 250m natural cove beach with umbrellas and sunbeds for guests.
Guests will be able to experience the ultimate in serenity at the full-service spa. The spa’s design draws upon traditional Asian influences and features two hammams, four private treatment rooms, two couples’ retreat rooms, and a separate relaxation space, with treatments including massages, skin treatments, detoxifying regimens, and beauty therapies.

- The Japanese Restaurant: Ascend to the rooftop to enjoy an elegant culinary experience at The Japanese Restaurant. Savour authentic dishes created with age-old techniques and the highest quality ingredients. Hours: 12.30pm – midnight
- The Cigar Bar: a comfortable, inviting space that offers an impressive menu of exotic cigars sourced from around the world. The knowledgeable staff will help you pair your selections with premium spirits and wines. Hours: 2pm – midnight
Varied excursions will be offered by the hotel’s recreation team, including boat trips (snorkelling, diving, fishing, catamaran sailing), watersports (kitesurfing, parasailing, jet skiing), off-road desert safaris, and horseback riding.
